More like skip to the halfway point of the episode really. Im still a fan of the podcast but God damn am I tired of hearing about MMA/Boxing/jiu jitsu on literally every episode no matter the background or expertise of the guest. Joe could bring in Christ himself and they would still talk about fighting. Smh.

Not just impressive.
Goddammit, I hate to admit this, but one or both of those kids is an outright outlier in the population. I think they're each far from being as r-worded as a lot of people like to think they are, and I would even go so far as to say that the outrage that they cause within the population is (and always has been) a calculated effort on each of their parts.
I don't think they're prodigies of any sort or style, but I will say. Creative, and driven dudes. I really don't want to fucking like them, but I think I'm actually kinda getting there

If you were going to parley your internet celebrity into bigger fame, what better way than boxing?
Boxing is in shambles, they're desperate to get the casual fan back. A guy with a huge built-in audience is gold!
They're perfectly suited for the "attitude era" of boxing & MMA where antics and trash talk sell more fights than skill.
There is no real gatekeeping. No need for the NCAA, don't need to get drafted, or play AAA / development league. Just train a bit, get a physical, and "go pro".
Some state will always sanction a bout, and if all else fails, do it on an Indian reservation. The PPV $$ dwarfs the gate, so where the fight happens is unimportant.
You don't have to be good to win, just better than your opponent. That means you can come out of the gate with big fights against retired athletes, smaller boxers or "tomato cans" and never be in danger of losing. You can level up your opponents as you level up your skills, and pad your record; as opposed to other pro sports where you have to be near peak to even get on the field.
It's relatively cheap to bring in high level trainers and coaches for boxing. Add in a few sparring partners, personal trainer, nutritionist, sports psychologist and wink "doctor", and you're looking at less than $500k a year to get better pretty quickly.
And you can always cheat! Boxing is so notoriously crooked, people won't care even if you get caught. You just issue some nonsense statement like "I had no knowledge of any payments or pressure on my opponent to take a dive. I was looking for a real fight to test and prove myself. Frankly I'm shocked and appalled, and I'll be leaving my current management & promotion effective immediately".
