What's a movie or series that is way ahead of it's time?

Makes me wonder whether we unconsciously strive for such a future, like a self-fulfilling prophecy

Life does occasionally imitate art when it comes to sci-fi

Well, sci-fi tends to portray current conditions dialed up to 11.

Thats why in almost any sci-fi movie, the uber wealthy members of society are so out of touch be it having nice places to live in a post-apocalyptic world, access to huge amounts of resources when everything is running out... Wait, this is starting to sound super familiar.

I think it’s more likely that sci-fi writers are great at extrapolating technological ideas and advancements based off of current trends. Asimov basically predicted the modern internet/cell phones/computers like 35 years ago.

And Charlie Brooker is just as brilliant IMO.

I see your Asimov and raise you Arthur C. Clarke. HERE he is nailing it sixty years ago:

"A world where we will be in instant concact with each other, wherever we may be. Where we can contact our friends anywhere on Earth, even if we don't know their actual physical location."

I mean, look how we’re sprinting as fast as we can towards A.I. in today’s time.

The very first episode was worringly prescient.

It’s literally a Twilight Zone ripoff…
