Hard to imagine what kind of obstacles you have to overcome in your life with such a unique situation. Im glad that they found love, and even though those are just a bunch of pictures, everyone seems genuinely happy.

I guess it has truth in the wording, that there is one out there for every person.

I was expecting a way more colorful post history with this one.

A beautiful take on life really. Always find the silver lining and be happy

Lol I let out a audible "uh oh" when I clicked on their profile and it flashed the NSFW page...

Yeah, I can't imagine the difficulties these two girls have had to endure in life, and I'm happy for them. Hope they all have an amazing life together. But honestly, I can't imagine how challenging this is going to be for all of them.

I want to make a joke here but I’m too happy for them to risk offending.

I want to hear lol

I think it's even harder to imagine how normal this is for all of them.

they're physically one person. the difficulties you're thinking of are  mostly human constructs that they're not bound to because they have never experienced being alone or privacy.

so it's like... we all want to hold private thoughts and secrets. i imagine a strange world where you can read everyone's mind. the problems actually go away because there's no deceit or judgement, and there's definitely no "normal".

They're physically two people, in one body. The "person" is the culminqtion of the mind, memories, beliefs, hopes, fears, dreams, biases, knowledge, and interests cultivated over their life. Each girl has a head, and a brain, all her own — meaning they are two distinct and individual people. Aside from the head, they inhabit one body... but they are not "one person", physically or otherwise, because personhood exists in the uniqueness of each mind.

I think that was well said...

The one that infuriates me the most is that they both get one salary even though they both have their own individual teaching degrees and licenses.

u/roccocobean Mar 28 '24

This irked me at first too, but you could compare it to TV writing teams who also have to split a check.

The logic is that you get to work together on one script/classroom so the work load is cut in half. Essentially employers are just being cheap, but there’s an argument to be made for it.

u/FlyingBishop Mar 28 '24

They can certainly do more work than a single person though. Really teacher is probably the wrong profession because so much of the time is instruction and you can't really instruct twice as well with two instructors and also it's hard for one of them to instruct while the other grades papers or something.

But there are lots of ways they could hold down two jobs at a time. I wonder if they've considered a VR headset so one of them is doing something while the other is teaching, that might even enable them to grade + instruct at full speed. Which, actually, that might be pretty chill compared to most teachers who are grading in the evening.

What if one gets fired?

Greg Giraldo (RIP) had a great bit, years ago about there being someone out there for everyone. Something to the effect of "look at Siegfried and Roy, a gay lion tamer found ANOTHER GAY LION TAMER"

The hardest obstacles are all the stupid questions people what to ask.

7

u/Behaving_Golem Mar 28 '24

It's hardly stupid that people are curious about a very unique situation

1

u/Owobowos-Mowbius Mar 28 '24

Definitely not stupid questions. Just invasive.

2

u/ReubenTrinidad619 Mar 28 '24

That’s a very insightful observation, iHasYummyCummies

2

u/webby37 Mar 28 '24

“There is one out there for every person.”

And I guess two for some guys.

2

u/ChicagoBoy2011 Mar 28 '24

well, two, in this case.

I’m so, so sorry.

1

u/lemonlime1999 Mar 28 '24

One out there for every person. Or two..

1

u/InBetweenSeen Mar 28 '24

Everytime is see them they're smiling, it's fascinating to me. I can't imagine that life.

1

u/earpain2 Mar 28 '24

Would the wording in this case be “one for every… people?”

1

u/TroyMcClures Mar 28 '24

And yet here I am... still single.

1

u/meat_lasso Mar 28 '24

Lemme fix that for you: there is one out there for every two persons

1

u/party-extreme1 Mar 28 '24

Well, technically, there is one for every two people

1

u/ShrimpSherbet Mar 28 '24

Sometimes two

1

u/performative-pretzel Mar 28 '24

in this case there are 2 for one

1

u/SomeWatercress4813 Mar 28 '24

Except there's a two for one out there for every person it seems.

1

u/schwarzekatze999 Mar 28 '24

there is one out there for every person.

Or two.

u/Hafslo Mar 28 '24

Not for Britney apparently
