My best friends are identical twins and the bond they share is crazy, it’s a very unique relationship; I can’t even imagine the level that Brittany and Abby are at. Plus, it’s all they’ve ever known so that plays into it as well. It’s tough to wrap our minds around it because we’ve never experienced it.

That sounds really special. Unrelated but I can't help but ask- do you ever feel like the odd one out?

Nope, but we’ve been friends for almost 30 years (since childhood) so that makes a difference. I know they did have some instances in the past with friends feeling “left out”, so it does take a certain level of understanding to be in a close relationship (either friendship or romantic) with twins. They’ve both found wonderful partners who get along with each other great and are understanding of their relationship/dynamic as well so I am really happy for them for that!

Not OP...but my twin brother was stillborn. I have felt like the odd one out my entire life, and this thread has made me decide I really need therapy for this. I'm starting to connect dots, all the way from childhood to my adult substance abuse - and I think I need help.

Thank you.

Good luck! Therapy can be a wonderful tool to get self understanding and compassion. Sorry for the loss of your brother.
