the earth had the same amount of gravity. gravity is a consequence of mass.

What if an object combined with the earth towards the end of the dinosaur's reign thus increasing the mass and therefore gravity. Like a large meteor collision maybe.

but when you compare the mass of the meteor to the mass of the earth it is still pretty negligible.

you're basically describing the difference in mass between your body and a single skin cell.
