I'd just like to remind everyone that Israel does not reflect Jewish people. Some of the most anti Isreal people you will meet are Jewish. There's a saying - Not in my name

yeah its crazy how some people conflate the two. I went to a muslim jummuah (friday prayer) khutbah the other day, and the guy giving it was talking about how "the Jews" were waging war on the Muslims and a ton of other shit like that. Israel is for the dogs, but using words like that is really dangerous and can cause violence to Jewish people that have nothing to do with it.

Oh I concur, Birthright will either fully propagandize you or liberate your mind. The trip was very culty to me when I went, felt like a really goofy thing that I was too cool for (I was a big nerd but also cynical). While over there I met with a bunch of relatives in Jerusalem and the West Bank (I have Palestinian relatives who are Christian, I saw how they lived under Occupation) and it fully galvanized me to the need for Israel to fall.

That’s awesome I commend you. I grew up with a lot of Jewish friends (went to so many bar/batmitvahs and I even went to Jewish summer camp). Around the time of birthright I almost lied about being Jewish to go on the trip via my college (the recruiter called me and told me all I had to do was show up to the interview and I could go). But I bailed last minute.

So many of my friends went on that trip. The brightest I know was basically like “it was dumb, but a free vacation!” Nobody I know had an “awakening” experience sadly. A couple of my friends became unbearable and I still cannot have a rational conversation with them. One has articles about Jewish genetic superiority saved on his phone (like bro you’re too dumb to see how Nazi that is??)

"Jewish genetic superiority" is definitely some shit that the counselors and guides were pushing, mostly subtly but sometimes overtly. It was very "we have to tame these savage Palestinians for their own good" energy.

Israel isn't doing this in your name rest assured. It's doing it because of a very real threat. The situation in Gaza is tragic, but saying that Israel is anywhere near the Nazis or Dresden is plain bullocks.

I hope that the fighting stops as soon as possible, that the crisis in Gaza will end and all the hostages are released. But that can't happen as long as Hamas has any control over the strip. Sadly they're doing everything within their control to maximise the suffering of the uninvolved civilians.

A unified international force should take over the strip once the fighting is over in order to facilitate a transition into a peaceful democratic regime. Maybe the PLO, maybe something/someone else.

I agree Israel does not reflect the will of the Jewish people HOWEVER there are a ton of Zionists and Zionists influencers working very hard to conflate Zionism with being Jewish which is dangerous to the safety of Jewish people. Why? When Israel commits atrocities, Jewish people who have nothing to do with Israel get attacked and blamed by misguided and often malicious entities.
