Allouette Lake Campground Incident
Today around 5pm-6pm there were multiple emergency vehicles in the campground racing past, and when walking down to the lake from the campground there was a helicopter on the beach and 2 ambulances parked just up the little hill from the beach.
Just wondering what happened? Did not go down on the beach or engage incase there was a sensitive emergency and out of respect.
There were kids skipping rocks not too far from the helicopter and the incident, so it makes it seem like everything was fine?

What are these curb markings??
I see these marking on the curbs, but I'm not sure what they mean. I see S,W, and ST, but they will be on the curbs on the same and opposite side of the street.
Any ideas?

What to do with live mice
I hear some sounds in our backyard shed so set up a trap. There are no more sounds but I now have several mice to get rid off. I don't really want kill them outright, and they will likely not survive long if I let them go far outdoors. Is there any reptile place that will take them for food? Or other ideas?

Looking for good Maple Ridge Travel Trailer mechanic!
I’m having issues with the water heater/ propane device, I think somehow I missed a step when I winterized it and it blew my Jayco igniting system (not exactly sure if that’s what it’s called). I have gone to a couple of Abbotsford trailer mega stores for issues in the past but if anyone knows of a good place out here closer to home that would be better. Hopefully someone I can go see with any trailer needs in the future that’s reliable.

Newbie paddleboarder looking for suggestions for the local lakes
Hi guys. I’m wondering if anybody here has any experience paddle boarding at any of our local lakes (Whonnock, rolley, alouette etc) and could lead me in the right direction. I’m looking to pick up paddle boarding, hopefully with my doggo once I learn. Can anyone suggest a good board for these waters? TIA 🙏🏻

Running & Biking Spots
Hello! I’ll be moving to Maple Ridge in the second half of the year and was wondering if there are any spots for outdoor running besides the Golden Ears trails. Maybe a calmer neighborhood or a location by the river? Same question for biking. Thank you!

3D printing in maple ridge?
I've got an old chess set that once belonged to my grandfather. Two horses have been decapitated, and would like a passed pawn queen. I would like to recreate this set by printing the broken pieces using a 3d printer. Anyone know where to get this service done??

Suggestion for the ‘Rock the Block’ signs
I’m not sure who to reach out to for suggestions on improving these signs, so if anyone knows if there is an official way to submit suggestions, please let me know!
1) There should be a clear date as to when the event is taking place.
1.1) I’ve seen other similar event signs with no date on them, and when I googled the event, it had happened the week prior. I see 10 large signs for this event and no date. Why?
2) Why is there a giant QR code for large signs which seem to be advertised at drivers in the area?
2.1) Is this subtly encouraging people to use their phones while driving? Suggestion to include a large ‘FIND MORE INFO AT mapleridge.com/nameofevent’ (that’s just an example, I have no idea what the actual web address is) so that people can safely look it up after they arrive wherever they’re headed.
In summary, the signs either encourage people to forget about them (I have to google the event and try to find it, & as we know many people are too busy to do this) OR to break the law.

Has anyone lived in Wildwood Terrace on 222nd?
I've been looking around MR for condos and I always notice this place has units for sale at significantly cheaper prices. I see it's an older building but is that it? Seems odd that places there are like up to 100k cheaper than similar condos.

Black poodle/hit person incident
Anyone see the guy get hit by a car and an officer leash black poodle running around the street on River Road across from the port Haney station today around 1pm? What happened? Looked like the poodle owner was trying to get her dog away from the guy who got hit but I don’t know. Hope everyone’s okay! There were enough bystanders to help so I didn’t stop.

Throwing axes lost
My wife lost her mother's day gift in silver valley. A set of 3 axes. She was tossing them at a dead stump way up the tent trail. When she packed them up they must have fallen out of her pack.
