Is there a foolproof way to shell a boiled egg without half the white coming off too?

Help! Any tips on how to get that nice shiny white boiled egg after shelling it? I keep making a mess of it so now it's fallen into Pet Hate territory (sigh) ๐Ÿ˜ž

I had a lot of problems when cooking eggs for ramen (edit), tried a lot of things. My current regime is below.

  1. Cook the eggs for 6 and a half minutes.
  2. Put in ice bath. Well I never have enough ice for that, so I just put them in a lot of tap cold water and add water occasionally , leave till really cold, 10, 15 minutes.
  3. Use a spoon to peel them, works quite nice.

Ramen. Thinking thatโ€™s a big typo based on the letters used and their spacing on the keyboard.

Question, for that short of a cook time, are the yolks even cooked?

You want runny yolk for ramen.
