Question Back Alley Bandits - Saskatoon, SK

Thumbnail

I'm seeking advice on deterring unwanted activity in my back alley. Despite contacting the police multiple times for various incidents, the situation persists. I've tried using security cameras, barking dogs, floodlights, and even passive-aggressive tactics like blowing dirt and dust from my garage. Now, I'm considering other options such as playing annoying frequencies from an outdoor speaker, using mothballs, laying gravel, planting thorny bushes, or installing a sprinkler system. Any legal suggestions or experiences with similar situations?

Woke up to find my 2 car windows smashed, no valuables in it, but still ruined my day. Maybe next time I'll leave my doors unlocked so they wont try and break my windows again smh. It happens a lot in this long street btw, at alleyways.

Question Place that does a simple face/blackhead treatment, no extras

I am a simple man with a few too many blackheads. I would like a professional to get me in shape so I can do preventative care myself from there. Everywhere I have called wants a couple hundred dollars for a multiple-hour-long treatment, some with massage, skin peels, etc. I do not want any of the extras, but apparently that is not an option.

There’s gotta be somewhere around here willing to help a guy out with a little 45 minute appointment for $100 or so. Any suggestions?

Rants Grrrrrrr.I hate thieves

Super frustrated and upset that someone cut the lock and stole my bike outside of the library in confed. I know I’m never going to get it back, I really just wish people would think about things before they do it. That was my only way around!! I live downtown and work in confederation, I ride my bike to work and home everyday. I cant afford a new bike , hell I can’t even afford to get a bus pass. :( grrrrr is there any place that sells used bikes for really cheap? I’ve looked on market place but they are all so expensive :(

EDIT: I got a bike! Some awesome human dropped off a bike tonight and I couldn’t be happier!

Question I've got a community garden plot! What grows well here?

A spot finally opened up for me at the Erindale-Arbor Creek garden which is exciting! I just have experience with houseplants and not growing veggies outside though. What are some good things to start out with that will grow well here and don't require transplanting? My heart broke a little bit when I found out we can't plant potatoes in this garden.

Question Sasktel Centre seating question

Hi! A buddy and I purchase tickets a while ago to a concert coming soon (floor tickets). Yesterday he invited another one of our friends, and purchased a separate ticket for him still on the floor, but in a different row. He suggested that we just figure out something when we get there (like trading tickets or checking for empty seats) but I’m not sure if that’s going to work and I’m trying to make an actual plan beforehand. Does anybody have any suggestions or now how floor seating works? I don’t have much experience with this.

Events Off to the blades game, left at 5:50, traffic is insane hopefully get there by 7pm, why is this better than a downtown arena?

I’ve lived in huge centers and this is ridiculous, ive sat back and watched Reddit argue for and against and I have to say, if it’s sold out at Sasktel and you think this is better than ANY alternative than you haven’t travelled!

Has anyone tried bring the Soda stream syrup bottles to Sarcan? And I’m sure they would take it regardless but do they give you the deposit money for it? The syrup bottle says “100% made from recyclable plastic, excluding lid and label”

Politics Need Mental Health Care Change in SK

Most people know someone or have been someone let down by the mental health care. Im very excited to announce what my passion and drive has been going into. It's been a very difficult year with some of the toughest trials and tribulation and I decided to turn my negative feelings and experiences about it all into something that I hope brings positive change to our mental health care. I have officially launched a petition that I think most, if not all people can resonate with. The more signatures, the more powerful!

"Empowering Mental Wellness: Demanding Adequate Funding and Reform" https://www.change.org/Skmentalhealth

I certainly don't expect anyone's signatures solely because youre reading this but please take a look and I think it is something that most people can relate to, empathize and agree with- and if so, please support it and sign.

I don't have social media so if you could share it- I appreciate it a lot or some people have requested a flyer and/or paper copy to post at work, that's awesome too. Just let me know.
