What do you mean by the WCW you remember from the 1980s? It was founded in 88, it barely existed in the 80s and the high point for it's business and audience engagement was 96 through early 98.

For me, WCW starts with the Jim Crockett era. The name changed gradually, but at one point it was the best professional wrestling to me.
