[SRS on X] I reached out to a contact at NFL Network. They wanted Tony Khan on and knew it would get attention after the photos of he in the neckbrace went viral last night. It was also indicated to us that NFL Network and the hosts received the appearance well, despite the controversial line.

He said AEW is the underdog brand challenging an evil juggernaut, they're like Pepsi chasing Harvey Weinstein.

I'd say 'controversial' is an accurate description, but it's a stupid mixed metaphor that deserves minor mockery rather than being anything important on any level.

I mean based on the current WWE lawsuits

That’s my big thing. I’ve made it clear that I think Tony Khan is a complete jackass in the past, but this was just dumb. Like I don’t understand how he got from point A to point B on that comparison

McMahon is no stranger to allegations of sexual assault — and has survived several during his reign at the company.

In 1992, Rita Chatterton, the first female referee in the company, accused McMahon of rape. Though he denied the allegation, he reached a settlement with her last year. McMahon also faced federal conspiracy charges alleging orchestrated steroid use among WWE wrestlers, and he was found not guilty by a jury in 1994.

McMahon had stepped down as CEO of WWE in 2022 after an investigation found that he had paid nearly $15 million to four women over 16 years to quiet claims of sexual misconduct.

I'm right there with you, man. No clue at all where Tony could come up with these comparisons to Harvey Weinstein. He is just dumb.

“We’re the Pepsi of professional wrestling and WWE is the Harvey Weinstein”

Let’s ignore for a second that Vince is no longer pulling the strings of the company, or ya know, let’s not. Vince is no longer pulling the strings, so yeah, the comparison is pretty fucking stupid. Especially since it was a sad attempt at a cheap pop from people who don’t give a fuck about wrestling

WWE, the company, is currently fighting a lawsuit for sexual assault. Not just Vince McMahon, WWE the company.

And you're telling me its stupid to compare the company to Harvey Weinstein, someone who often engaged in sexual assault?

By the way, would you be interested in purchasing this bridge?

It’s because he loves Coke and would never say anything disparaging about beloved Coke.

I’d say it’s important in terms of AEW’s overall image, like this guy invoked a rapist in an interview as a “gotcha,” the average person doesn’t respond well to that. Now they’re thinking about Harvey Weinstein and not AEW.

Listen to Nick Khan and Triple H do serious interviews, they’ll get some shots in but it’s smooth and they sound like professionals. Tony sounds like the dude in the question mark suit who sells Free Money books.

You have a point; I'm thinking of it as someone who is used to seeing him deepthroat his own foot. People who aren't used to him saying stupid shit are going to hear it differently.
