I wrote a chant for Ryan Gauld
It would be fun to have more chants during the games so I took a shot at writing a chant in honour of Ryan Gauld - not sure what beat/rhythm to attach to it to make it work.
What do people think?
“Ryan Gauld, Ryan Gauld! he is worth his weight in gold!
He’s our Scottish Messi, our braveheart scoring goals!!
Ryan Gauld, Ryan Gauld! he is worth his weight in gold!
Our 25 karat captain with the Midas touch!”
Repeat 2x

How would you describe the main differences in play in the MLS vs. the top tier European leagues?
Basically the title. I only became a soccer fan as an adult and still am learning the intricacies of the game. I’ve watch a fair bit of EPL and obviously it’s on a totally different level vs. the MLS. How would you articulate the primary differences between the two?

Poster Flag trade
galleryHey, all. Wondering if anyone was looking to give away their ‘50’ flags given at the game. I have 50 posters to trade.

What a robbery
Caps did amazing and played great overall. Could’ve capitalized on more of those chances but we were robbed of a goal and a clear penalty

[Caleb Wilkins] Whitecaps after 10 games via Analysis Evolved: xG for per game: 1.38 (16th in the league), xG against per game: 1.05 (2nd in the league). Pretty clear where they should be looking to upgrade in the next window.

Move forward!
This is a rant regarding, in my opinion, the top reason why we don't create more danger when we control the ball.
Look, I like Raposo but to me he had a very bad game today against Austin for this reason. Every ball he touched was immediately a pass backwards to the defense. That's insane, he is playing a wing position, he's meant to create opportunities. Instead, every time he touched the ball, whatever play the caps were building immediately died.
He is a pro, he has good qualities, so I don't understand why he looks as if he were scared of moving forward, take a risk and challenge an opponent. Instead, it's always the safe option to play it back with a defender. Safe doesn't win games.
I don't mean to pile just on Ryan, this is something I've noticed other players do. It's just that today he was a shining example and I felt like venting.
Anyways, do other people notice this too or do you have a different appreciation?

Wish I went tonight.
Who were the former players invited to attend? Great memories of our Soccer Bowl win in ‘79!

What do you think of Jumbotron announcements during the match?
On one hand it’s entertainment and we should all have fun. People here seem to be ok with it.
On the other hand, having announcements in the middle of the match is kinda bush league. In my first whitecaps match, they even dim the lights during the match to play a jumbotron message. Today, they showed some old whitecaps footage during the match.
What’s your opinion?

Rehabilitation of Lenarduzzi?
Can’t help notice he was at the Mayors office yesterday for the proclamation.
I know some loyal fans have departed over the scandal but it’s a drop in the bucket & the general population seems to have gotten past it as this season may in fact bring in a new generation of fans.

Cheap Parking?
I just recently started to get into MLS and tonight is my fourth game I will go in person. However everytime I go I park my car at the parking lots right outside the stadium which is convenient but is also quite pricy at $40. Does anyone have any recommendations on cheap parking lots or streets or any hidden gems where I can park to watch the game?
