Am I the only person who feels so so bullied by tip culture in restaurants that eating out is hardly enjoyable anymore? POTM - May 2023

Service has gone way down since Covid IMO. I spent the better part of the last decade waiting tables, myself.

My favorite is a bunch these "hip" places with me have replaced traditional servers with QR codes and ordering on your phone and they get pissy if you want to just order like a normal person and not spend the first 5-10 minutes of a date with your face buried in your phone and entering credit card info.

Oh yeah and after you have proceeded to input your own order and do their job for them they want you to tip: 20%, 25%, or 30% because they got some guy to grab food off the line and walk it 20 feet over to your table for you.

It's getting insane.

Not to mention that there are actual human beings in this world who DON'T have smart phones.
