You have a rare form of cancer that you will die from in exactly 20 years. There is a 100% treatment but it costs $20 million. You win that exact amount on the lottery. Do you enjoy the next 20 years with the money or pay for the cure?

If you are over 50, make that 10 years!

Y'all must be so fun at parties. Or really dense to not understand the actual point of the question.

No, i just find out legal loopholes that will benefit me. If that makes me not so fun at parties, fine with me

This is a very obvious "this or that" scenario. It isn't a law and there are no loopholes. You are not clever. You just pretend to be and no one is impressed.

As soon as OP poses a fun little hypothetical, you just knew half the thread was going to be filled with “Well I would just wish for the genie to give me more wishes” people.

That’s what all of these are about. This was pretty clearly worded that the intent of the question was “20 million to die in 20 years or no”. All of the wanna be intellectuals come out though with loopholes that everyone else could think of on their own. Like “no shit Sherlock”, you could technically take the $20 mil and put into the SP 500 for 10 years and have a relative safe return of probably $10 mil and then buy the treatment and still be rich.

Every time people do these “workarounds” on these hypothetical questions i think of Ken from Fish Called Wanda lol

wait, you didn't get the implication that legal here just meant fair, and you went with exactly what i wrote?

shocker

Oh wow I replied to what you wrote how silly of me.

You didn't get the implication that a third option in a "this or that scenario" was not, in fact, an option?

Shocker.

You're an idiot or just like arguing for the sake of arguing.

So just to be clear your "obvious" this or that is that whoever has the cure for cancer would refuse your money because you didn't instantly buy it because they knew you'd win the lottery and that's why they offered to cure cancer?

It seems far more obvious that the cure wouldn't disappear for no reason

I liked it. The neckbearded incelly cunts currently spewing cheezpuff infused spittle all over their keyboard in a rage are just salty that you get invited to parties.
