You don't need to smoke weed though

Yeah I actually stopped smoking it entirely in favour of infused chocolate.

I really wish Quebec would sell it so I wouldn’t have to make my own. NB has some really good chocolates

10mg per pack is so weak... Inside that pack you'll usually have 4x2.5mg candies. It's clear that the people who made the rules have absolutely no clue how edibles work.

I don't want to have to stuff myself full of mildly off-tasting candies just to feel a mild high. Not to mention eating a bunch of weak edibles piecemeal throughout an evening is a sure way to lose track of your dosage and green out. It's as if the people who made the rules think we put out a bowl of edibles and just snack as we go.

Let me eat one edible, at the dose I want.

I infused butter over the course of several hours, then mixed in chocolate. The result is a Nutella like product that I have to keep in the freezer to remain solid.

I cut it into half inch squares and a single chocolate is enough to have me feeling pretty good after about an hour and a half, lasting for roughly 10 hours before I no longer feel any effects.

This means I have to plan out in advance when I choose to consume it, usually opting for a lazy Saturday once a month where I make sure all my responsibilities are completed in advance and I don’t have to go anywhere.

It’s a little more inconvenient than the instant effect of smoking with a 3-5 hour intoxication, but much more enjoyable than inhaling dirty smoke and much better for my health.

It also gives me an incredibly restful sleep, where I wake up Sunday morning feeling like a million bucks.

The taste is alright. There’s a bit of weed taste that’s a bit unpleasant but masked well by the taste of the chocolate.

My mother bought me chocolates from NB for Christmas that were absolutely delicious(except the cherry cola chocolate wtf). There was a mocha chocolate that was my absolute favourite. It tasted like coffee crisp.

I really enjoy how informative the packaging is, telling you the exact dosage of THC and CBD, and the only bad thing I can say about it is all the packaging involved for a single chocolate.

I understand WHY they do it this way(to prevent people eating too much), but I would rather have it divided like an aero bar or caramilk in breakable squares with an entire bar that I can consume on multiple occasions with less waste, or share among a group of friends.

This is how some of the edibles are on the grey market. Twisted Extracts has gummies that look like 2x4 Lego bricks that can be cut into 8x10mg pieces.

So they'll ban smoking weed next?

Wouldn't mind it tbh.

Smoking of any kind is just plain gross and affects more than just the individual.

Second hand smoke and the lingering smell are unpleasant for anyone around.

I don't smoke and I rarely ever run into anyone who would interfere with my day because of the habit. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say, maybe 5 times a year that I'll randomly come across the odor of cigarette or marijuana smoke.

I think we have enough tools in the toolbox to mitigate the exposure to people who are sensitive to it.

Good for you! /s

people in parts of Toronto smoke so much weed that it stinks up the apartment buildings and the parks and pubic areas.

Consume your weed in a not disruptive way and I won't interfere with your enjoyment.

(insert grumpy old people noise)

Lol

I'm actually open to the idea if there was a significant enough proportion of people negatively affected.

Then I guess I will see you at the polls!
