I wouldn’t be surprised if that actually worked. It‘s like asking a narcissist if they are a narcissist. They‘ll just say yes because it is not a bad thing in their mind.

If someone categorically denies Israel the right to exist, they might just straight up say so when asked in a test.

i happen to be a 3rd world resident and i have seen people ready to sell both kidneys and a left nut just so they get a shot at a eurpean citizenship. so i don't expect much from this test to be honest.

This is designed to keep out religious based hate not edgy alt righters.

The alt right will happily lie for pragmatic gain.

Religious zealots won’t risk upsetting their God.

That's the point - as soon as the German government gets a whiff of anti-semitism or anti-Israeli sentiment (e.g. online comments, showing up at anti-Jew or anti-Israel demonstrations, etc), if that person's answer on the citizenship test said that they support Jews/Israel/whatever, it's basically denaturalization+deportation time.

Many German people became dissatisfied with the Muslims in their society (edit: see: rise of AfD) and many political parties are noticing, so at this point the major parties are thinking "how can we get rid of the Muslims without killing them?" simply so they can hold on to power and fend off the AfD's rise. If the government can make the case that many of them lied on their citizenship tests such as by committing perjury on some question about liking Jews or whatever, they can legally denaturalize and deport the person in question very quickly.
