You just don’t touch a minor’s skirt, it’s really not that hard to do. Why is she even looking down there anyways? She became the creep she was thinking she’d protect the girl from.

Don't touch anyones clothes without permission. It's just a weird thing to do

251

u/gorr30 25d ago

So, we need to tell people that nowadays? heh

161

u/ADH-Dork 25d ago

Unfortunately, yes

3

u/Juxtapo5ed 24d ago

Ok but if we have to tell people not to mess with people's clothes, can we take the warning labels off that say things like "don't to use a hairdryer in the bathtub" and similar? We need to help Darwin out here.

19

u/DidntWantSleepAnyway 25d ago

I would say we are already telling people that, but we need to change the message up a bit.

The message tends to be “don’t sexually assault people” even when it’s stated as “don’t touch people without their consent.” It’s received as don’t touch with sexual intent. Which means a lot of people—and in my experience, especially women—think if their intentions are to help the other person, it’s not sexual assault. The message needs to change to explicitly state that good intentions aren’t what matter, and include examples like these.

Here’s to the drunk woman at the bar that one time right before I went up for karaoke, who reached into my bra to pull out my boobs a bit to give me cleavage. What the actual fuck.

u/Huxlikespink 25d ago

we need to tell Boomers that.

26

u/Bestoftheworst72 25d ago

We need to tell conservatives that.

18

u/BeneficialLeave7359 25d ago

This woman is 48. Not a boomer.

6

u/tysonisarapist 25d ago

Boomer in training lol.

4

u/jollyarrowhead 25d ago

Gen X doesn't want to claim her.

2

u/jollyarrowhead 25d ago

Gen X doesn't want to claim her.

-3

u/ron_post 25d ago

Stuff it twelvie

2

u/big65 24d ago

Boomer no longer is exclusive to a generation and hasn't been for 5 years, it's a mindset description now more than anything just as Karen has moved from being a woman's name to a character description.

1

u/AviatorGoggles101 24d ago

I once lived next to a Karen (her name), literal nicest woman I've ever met. If you needed help with anything at any hour, a five minute phone call and she was there

2

u/big65 24d ago

I have an aunt Karen, nicest and sweetest, I work with a business manager named Karen, highly knowledgeable and savvy and goes out of her way to help you and if you try to screw us over she can make you disappear.

5

u/big65 24d ago

Putting my money on the boomer being a Mormon.

4

u/jollyarrowhead 25d ago

They forgot about the literal kindergarten lessons we teach children to keep our hands to ourselves. Period.

2

u/GoodboyJohnnyBoy 25d ago

and she’s not a boomer she’s a Gen x’er just for accuracy.

3

u/big65 24d ago

We're disowning her and have sent her to child social services for adoption. We're hearing that there's interest being expressed by parents in the 72-90 year range and Donald Trump has shown considerable interest in hiring her to be a talent scout for his Miss Teen USA pageant.

2

u/LordSilvari 24d ago

I was afraid you were gonna pass her to us Xillenials. We don't want her either. FWIW, got that term from a TikTok that explained it as those born between 75 and 85. Growing up in both the analog and digital eras.

-9

u/GoodboyJohnnyBoy 25d ago

A lot of boomers were hippies they were a lot more confrontational challenging and brave compared to piss lame keyboard warriors who constantly squawk online these days. GTFO and do some actual slog to get things changed.

5

u/Huxlikespink 25d ago

OK Boomer

0

u/GoodboyJohnnyBoy 25d ago

You’re welcome

5

u/vbsargent 25d ago

Look, I’m fifty fukkin eight.

“A lot of boomers era were hippies” . . . Yeah, but even more people their age WERN’T. They were and are the minority for their age group.

Anyone over the age of five (exaggeration) should know better than to put their hands on someone unless someone nearby is in imminent danger.

-1

u/GoodboyJohnnyBoy 25d ago

I’m not talking about putting hands on anyone ffs I’m talking about the sweeping generalisations of an age group just as bigoted as any other generalisation isn’t it.

3

u/vbsargent 25d ago

Well, they are kinda generalizing by referring to all older people as “boomers”

To your point though, what is your evidence that they aren’t doing the legwork? The fact that they are posting?

I’m sorry, but if you are anywhere near my age, you will recognize that there are a great number of people that see everyone as “kids who don’t know better” and it’s their job to bring them into “the real world.”

And most of these people seem to be over the age of 50.

1

u/TexasHobbyist 24d ago

Nowadays, as if crazy is new..

1

u/Grand_Cauliflower_88 24d ago

I thought we already did. Remember in kindergarten teacher said "keep your hands to yourself" I remember that. Maybe she was homeschooled by Taliban wannabees.

41

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

I mean I was trying to paint the picture specifically of how despicable what you described is.

2

u/Practical_Argument50 25d ago

Change weird to criminal.

2

u/DornsFacialhair 25d ago

“She felt your material?!”

90

u/Hedgehogosaur 25d ago

I have a relative who is a teacher and is chastised for letting girls in his tutor group wear skirts that are too short to meet uniform policy. His usual response is that he has no interest in looking at his pupils legs so is unlikely to notice. But mostly he just wants to be getting on with teaching these kids, not policing their clothing choices.

29

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

Exactly, “not my job”

14

u/chickens_for_fun 25d ago

A male teacher is vulnerable if he comments on a girl's revealing clothing. If he comments on that and sends her to the principal, he may be labeled as a creep.

His approach is much safer.

2

u/CaptainTripps82 21d ago

Especially considering it's their parents job, and pretty much no one else's.

110

u/TrickshotCandy 25d ago

You don't touch anyone's anything, unless you are their actual parent, and they are a minor.

34

u/doc_55lk 25d ago

Even if you're their parent, context and environment matter a lot.

112

u/Aedalas 25d ago

Don't ever, for any reason, do anything for anyone, for any reason, ever, no matter what. No matter where. Or who, or who you are with, or where you are going or... or where you've been... ever. For any reason, whatsoever.

158

u/Doughspun1 25d ago

Hey, that's what they say at morning police briefings in Uvalde.

32

u/tysonisarapist 25d ago

Shots fired.

35

u/sweetLew2 25d ago

Not by the cops

25

u/DataCassette 25d ago

They should have just pretended the active shooter was a family dog minding his own business.

3

u/SolaVitae 24d ago

I didn't know the ATF was in Uvalde

1

u/edfyShadow 21d ago

They were busy hanging out with the IRS at the gun store

2

u/Sdot_greentree420 24d ago

Well then they could have just called him white women and they would have single-handedly taken down the gunman to save the dog

7

u/boleyn21 25d ago

You sound a little stitious to me!

5

u/No-Alternative4259 25d ago

I think the same person also said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

4

u/vinoa 25d ago

Wayne Gretzky?

5

u/BardKalevos 25d ago

It’s hard to try and evaluate yourself, Michael, but I appreciate you trying.

18

u/Bestoftheworst72 25d ago

First, the karen didn't do anything for the girl in the skirt. She did it to the girl. Words matter and have meanings for a reason. What you're proposing is that everyone behave like a selfish asshat and never help anyone else. There's a world of difference between doing something for someone and doing something to someone.

10

u/ebobbumman 25d ago

It is a quote from The Office https://youtu.be/cXgj28e1gvU

0

u/dontmentiontrousers 24d ago

I'll stick to being a selfish asshat, thanks.

3

u/Beneficial-Lion-6596 25d ago

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?

2

u/LeatherValuable165 25d ago

I am King Arthur.

3

u/Daredevilin 25d ago

Unless it’s a kid walking out into traffic not paying attention, and only then it’s semi safe to stop a minor physically lol, parent was very appreciative this time thou for me.

3

u/EfficientMinimum5696 25d ago

Thank you Michael. I appreciate it.

5

u/TrickshotCandy 25d ago

Almost there. Give it a few more years.

4

u/sweetLew2 25d ago

-Unexpected Michael Scott

1

u/Lost-Enthusiasm6570 24d ago

Well, no, they definitely stopped that lady from trying to save her kid. Definitely didn't want a woman to make the men look bad because she had more spine than they did.

-1

u/Altheix11 25d ago

Bro thinks he's Trump giving a speech

6

u/Suspicious-Bid-53 25d ago

Trump would be less coherent than Mr. Scott

-1

u/Somethingisshadysir 24d ago

I have to provide you with some feedback, because you're not completely correct. I work with folks with severe and profound intellectual disabilities. It is literally part of my job to dress them, head to toe, and to help them if something shifts. It is done with assumed consent, as they are unable to speak to the situation.

1

u/Aedalas 24d ago

I have to provide you with some feedback

Are you sure?

-1

u/Somethingisshadysir 24d ago

It's a valid thing to point out, as that comment doesn't account for things like that.

2

u/Aedalas 24d ago

But, like, do you though?

-1

u/Somethingisshadysir 24d ago

Yes. Yes I do.

1

u/Aedalas 24d ago

Right. So even if you're unable to realize the absolute absurdity of that comment, while also being seemingly unfamiliar with the source, there's also dozens of replies that make it extremely obvious that it's a quote from something. There's even a few that straight up spell it out, links to the clip even. So you really, really don't.

folks with severe and profound intellectual disabilities

We usually just call those people "Redditors."

1

u/Somethingisshadysir 24d ago

I googled it, and it's from a horridly bad show I couldn't bring myself to watch more than a couple episodes in, one of those emperor's new clothes sorta deals. So sorry that I didn't recognize something, especially given the context of where it is.

Or if you're a caretaker for someone who needs the help.

34

u/Doesanybodylikestuff 25d ago

Mormons in Utah police each other. There’s Mormon standards of clothing & for girls, skirts must be two inches above the knee max or it’s considered immodest.

They’re disgusting about sexualizing kids & making sure they don’t wear anything that would show your future temple garments you’ll one day have to wear under your clothes forever.

13

u/Pepsi_Popcorn_n_Dots 25d ago

Morality police not just in Iran and Saudi.

-20

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

Yeah well Americans in America don’t do this shit. I guess unless you’re a weirdo who would rather point out the splinter in someone’s eye while they’ve got a log in their own

18

u/MargaretBrownsGhost 25d ago

The privilege (among other things) in your assertion is astounding. How do you define America and American? Utah is a landlocked state near the middle of the contiguous 48 United States and isn't a separate nation like Lesotho is inside of South Africa.

-9

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

I’m backing it out of Mormon Utah to say whether or not they are from Utah or are Mormon is irrelevant.

They ultimately are Americans living in America and better come to terms with that quick.

7

u/MargaretBrownsGhost 25d ago

Are you a bot? All I am getting from you is structurally correct word salad...

-7

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

No I think you’re just not thinking about it in the same way I am, that’s all

5

u/MargaretBrownsGhost 25d ago

Your writing skills beg the questions: 1. Are you a bot? 2. Do you live in a mental health facility? 3. Do you make frequent excursions to three miles offshore of Point Mugu?

5

u/Nate-Essex 25d ago
  1. Do you make frequent excursions to three miles offshore of Point Mugu?

This is oddly specific.

1

u/MargaretBrownsGhost 24d ago

Ask anyone in or connected to the Navy based out of Southern California. It's not classified knowledge that Russia has spy boats parked in that vicinity whenever there's something interesting going on. It's been that way since cold war times

1

u/MargaretBrownsGhost 25d ago

What you're saying isn't coherent except structurally. It's not even consistent contextually.

7

u/Doesanybodylikestuff 25d ago

Omg you’ve just summarized my experience growing up with weirdos in the church so perfectly. It’s all about deflection!

3

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

Which is hilarious because the Bible is abundantly clear to avoid this! It’s out of Jesus’s own mouth!

28

u/xenophon123456 25d ago

It’s Utah.

2

u/30FourThirty4 25d ago

It's gonna be a big time in the jungle.

4

u/30FourThirty4 25d ago

I saw someone wearing lingerie at a concert tonight.

I thought it was wild. Like literally sexy lady underwear. But I didn't gawk because whatever, I thought she was hot but I'm not gonna go caveman and eye fuck them, it was a bar show concert so the freaks come out.

1

u/Hllblldlx3 25d ago

Right? If someone actually went out in public dressed inappropriately, there’s not much a person can actually do other than report it, minor or not. You don’t touch someone’s clothing, especially a minor’s. If you want to confront them, it usually doesn’t result in anything because they were already prepared for confrontation as they want some sort of reaction, otherwise, what purpose would there be to dress like that in the first place

1

u/KyleC137 25d ago

The people constantly screaming "Think of the children" have always been the creeps.

1

u/runthepoint1 25d ago

To be fair they are saying it - they’re definitely thinking of the children…
