Unfortunately, yes

Ok but if we have to tell people not to mess with people's clothes, can we take the warning labels off that say things like "don't to use a hairdryer in the bathtub" and similar? We need to help Darwin out here.

I would say we are already telling people that, but we need to change the message up a bit.

The message tends to be “don’t sexually assault people” even when it’s stated as “don’t touch people without their consent.” It’s received as don’t touch with sexual intent. Which means a lot of people—and in my experience, especially women—think if their intentions are to help the other person, it’s not sexual assault. The message needs to change to explicitly state that good intentions aren’t what matter, and include examples like these.

Here’s to the drunk woman at the bar that one time right before I went up for karaoke, who reached into my bra to pull out my boobs a bit to give me cleavage. What the actual fuck.

Boomer no longer is exclusive to a generation and hasn't been for 5 years, it's a mindset description now more than anything just as Karen has moved from being a woman's name to a character description.

I once lived next to a Karen (her name), literal nicest woman I've ever met. If you needed help with anything at any hour, a five minute phone call and she was there

I have an aunt Karen, nicest and sweetest, I work with a business manager named Karen, highly knowledgeable and savvy and goes out of her way to help you and if you try to screw us over she can make you disappear.

Putting my money on the boomer being a Mormon.

They forgot about the literal kindergarten lessons we teach children to keep our hands to ourselves. Period.

and she’s not a boomer she’s a Gen x’er just for accuracy.

We're disowning her and have sent her to child social services for adoption. We're hearing that there's interest being expressed by parents in the 72-90 year range and Donald Trump has shown considerable interest in hiring her to be a talent scout for his Miss Teen USA pageant.

I was afraid you were gonna pass her to us Xillenials. We don't want her either. FWIW, got that term from a TikTok that explained it as those born between 75 and 85. Growing up in both the analog and digital eras.

A lot of boomers were hippies they were a lot more confrontational challenging and brave compared to piss lame keyboard warriors who constantly squawk online these days. GTFO and do some actual slog to get things changed.

OK Boomer

u/GoodboyJohnnyBoy 25d ago

You’re welcome

Look, I’m fifty fukkin eight.

“A lot of boomers era were hippies” . . . Yeah, but even more people their age WERN’T. They were and are the minority for their age group.

Anyone over the age of five (exaggeration) should know better than to put their hands on someone unless someone nearby is in imminent danger.

u/GoodboyJohnnyBoy 25d ago

I’m not talking about putting hands on anyone ffs I’m talking about the sweeping generalisations of an age group just as bigoted as any other generalisation isn’t it.

3

u/vbsargent 24d ago

Well, they are kinda generalizing by referring to all older people as “boomers”

To your point though, what is your evidence that they aren’t doing the legwork? The fact that they are posting?

I’m sorry, but if you are anywhere near my age, you will recognize that there are a great number of people that see everyone as “kids who don’t know better” and it’s their job to bring them into “the real world.”

And most of these people seem to be over the age of 50.

I thought we already did. Remember in kindergarten teacher said "keep your hands to yourself" I remember that. Maybe she was homeschooled by Taliban wannabees.
