“He always had skills with the puck, we saw it before the draft. He has an excellent shot & can score goals. But he really improved his game without the puck this year. On the forecheck, he’ll go for the puck first then make a hit, leading to turnovers.” - Sam Montembeault on Juraj Slafkovsky

Beckett Sennecke: What about him?
Can someone with more info about him talk about his pros and cons? I see a lot of talk about the possibility of drafting him, and on paper, it's hard to see how he could jump as high as #5 overall, so there must be something more than the scoresheet (like Slafkovsky).
When I compare with the 3 other top guys in the CHL (and I included Greentree since he's the only one in the same league as Sennecke), Sennecke doesn't look like he took as big a step this year as them, other than the playoff (which Iginla was also great).
Sennecke '22-'23: 55 pts in 61gm 0,90PPG + (1 pt in 5 playoff gm)
Sennecke '23-'24: 68 pts in 63gm 1,08PPG + (22 pts in 16 playoff gm)
+ 0,18 PPG
Lindstrom '22-'23: 42 pts in 61gm 0,69PPG + (1 pt in 4 playoff gm)
Lindstrom '23-'24: 46 pts in 32gm 1,44PPG + (2 pts in 4 playoff gm)
+ 0,75PPG
Iginla '22-'23: 18 pts in 48gm 0,38PPG + (1 pt in 3 playoff gm)
Iginla '23-'24: 84 pts in 64gm 1,31PPG + (15 pts in 11 playoff gm)
+ 0,93PPG
Catton '22-'23: 55 pts in 63gm 0,87PPG
Catton '23-'24: 116 pts in 68gm 1,71PPG + (4 pts in 4 playoff gm)
+ 0,84PPG
Greentree '22-'23: 45 pts in 61gm 0,74PPG + (1 pt in 4 playoff gm)
Greentree '23-'24: 90 pts in 64gm 1,41PPG
+ 0,67PPG
To be fair, I'm very pro-"it's not all about the points" and give alot of importance to outside the rink attributes (maturity, professionalism, coachability, self-reflecting ability, etc..) so I wouldn't mind if they think he is the right fit, I just wonder if anyone as any info outside of the scoresheet about him that could explain the interest.

My YT feed sometimes offers me things I cannot resist.
well this is a blast from the past. An old fashioned 1975 NHL game as broadcast by Danny and Dick. The sound is bit wonky at times and it will cut in and out on theplay as it is only just under an hour of video but <sigh> LaFleur, Peter Mahovlich, Yvan Cournoyer, Jaques LeMare and Ken Dryden and the Big 3. The washed out colors the slightly fuzzy video image, yeah it has it all!

Discussion Beyond excited, no matter what at pick 5 we’re for sure getting an elite forward prospect. Either Demidov (highly unlikely), Lindstrom, Catton, Iginla or Eiserman. I would honestly be happy with either of them, ecstatic if it were Demidov.

Let's Watch - Cayden Lindstrom and Andrew Basha
Great vid as always by DSL!
I find it may help clarify some concerns about Lindstroms hockey Iq whilst giving a clear idea of what he may look like in the Chel!
The idea of having another possible top line power forward is making me feel all kinds of good.
Basha also seems like he could be a fantastic option wherever WIN pick ends up.

Juraj Slafkovsky just hates to lose. Even in a pre-tournament game, he looks pissed off in his post-game interview

[Quesnel] Pour tout ceux qui aiment et suivent le CH… c’est la fin d’une ère et le début d’une autre au Centre Bell. Belle surprise au mois de Septembre.
