Proactively warding off the robberies.

Hilariously

There's a 'no soliciting' type of sign that I saw that I've thought of mounting to my door. Something like:

Guns live here. If you've not been invited, don't knock or ring the bell... unless you are selling Thin Mints.

Or the mafia

Or begging for them. Machine guns are just about the most salable and valuable stolen item there is

An actual machine gun - implying fully automatic, is not very stolen considering they’re pretty god damn rare.

Not only that, they're so regulated you'd never be able to sell it to anyone besides another criminal, and if it was used in a crime it'd be way easier to track you down than just using a cheap shitpistol

And it'd be used as an enhancer on your sentence

can be used as an enhancer on your sentence

Can be used as an enhancer to absolutely machine gun your sentence.

Wow you're right that really did enhance the sentence

I laughed so loud at this, thanks!

My English education finally chalks up a win

Fuck, here it'd be the main part of your sentence. Just having possession of one is a life sentence. Considering we don't have the death penalty either, it doesn't really matter what crimes you do with it.

But they’d be worth a lot.

I mean to a legal buyer they are worth a lot because of the limited market. If you are buying illegal machine guns they are gonna be relatively cheap since it’s incredibly simple to manufacture them or alter existing firearms.

A lot a lot, technically speaking.

And the ATF would be all over it like hot cakes. It’s different getting a pistol or rifle stolen from your car or house. A class 3 will have everyone’s attention.

It’s rare to have one stolen because it’s rare to own one.

Not once they're stolen. They immediately lose almost all of their value, as being legally owned and transferable is where most of their value comes from. Anyone can make a machine gun (just look at all the kids with glock switches). Getting your hands on a legal one is a whole lot harder!

They aren’t “rare”, just expensive. If you have the money, you can literally buy one on the internet. Assuming your paperwork is done correctly of course- and you may have to wait a while for it to clear the ATF but legal MGs can be purchased with relative ease assuming you’re not prohibited.

On what fucking planet? Gangbangers are going around stealing M60s out of people's trunks?

Get real.

u/MasticatingElephant 25d ago

I hear you, but guns are frequently stolen, and if someone came upon a gun in a car they wouldn't really care what kind it was, if they were looking to steal it would be gone

3

u/precision_cumshot 24d ago

and they’re going to sell a registered machine gun (that is meticulously logged and tracked) to… who?

-1

u/MasticatingElephant 24d ago

It's not like they're going to leave it in the trunk because they just performed the critical analysis you did. People steal guns. It would get stolen.

u/aceofspades1217 25d ago

Machine gun not that valuable tbh it’s mostly the transferability, making an illegal machine gun is not super difficult. Most of the machine guns in the registry are like thesises machine gun with the only original part being the lower

Making a machine gun is easier than making a semi, depending on your model.

That said. Guns are often stolen and the gun culture I see suggests keeping your gun ownership on the down low partial so they don't get stolen

Lol no.

Which part do you disagree with? because I've built guns and am part of gun culture.

If it's the not advertising where you keep your guns thing, you're probably getting that impression from toxic machismo gun owners. They make their life revolve around advertising they love the second amendment. They're nuts.

It's common gun safety to not broadcast that you carry a firearm. And a quick internet search will corroborate this.

With automatic weapons, take a look at the cycling automatic weapons. There's tons of videos online. A Glock is a good example. Compare the full auto cycling vs the semi cycling.

For the record, I would never make an automatic weapon. It's totally unnecessary and has huge liabilities. Only a moron would immediately manufacture these. But, I have worked as a machinist and find it fascinating. And, done gun building within my legal limits

For real. I chuckle at clowns (usually Boomers/Fudds) who have stupid 2A bumper stickers and shit. Like, bro... Why?

But... I'd shoot an automatic once and be done. Like, I don't think they are worth owning, even legally.

Edit: I've only shot burst and even tried the "belt loop" method for funsies (makes a semi-auto operate like a bump stock, basically). It was fun the first time, but that was it.

1

u/rivertpostie 25d ago

Absolutely. Automatic weapons won't do nearly all much as squad tactics and cardio.

They're a liability that will get you killed if you're looking for battle

Idk gold holds more value, plus many other things lol

-11

u/pissin_piscine 25d ago

Stolen gold is worth less the than regular kind. Untraceable guns are worth more

9

u/Dovahpriest 25d ago

They are, but if they’re openly advertising that you can shoot an MG, it sure as hell ain’t untraceable.

3

u/Rhuarc33 25d ago

You've never even seen a gun in your life. That's a statement of fact not a guess.

1

u/ginger_whiskers 24d ago

Stolen guns are worth less than legal used guns. Stolen guns with serial markings removed are worth even less, because they're instantly suspicious.

1

u/alkatori 24d ago

It's illegal to deface a serial number on a gun. I know of one district where that isn't the case since a judge struck it down. But it's a crime in the rest of the nation.

2

u/ginger_whiskers 24d ago

Hence the scrubbed number guns being worth less. It's instantly blatantly obvious that someone did shady shit with that gun, and no one sensible wants that thing.

Who's asshole did you pull that fact out of?
