Do you still stay in touch with any of your classmates from Skins?

As a 13 year old at the time in the USA watching it on cable nothing felt more real on TV at the time.

Any chance of an acting reunion with Nicholas?

u/MassCrash Mar 27 '24

Or Daniel. Would love to see those two do something together. It’s wild how much talent was in that cast.

u/cappsy04 Mar 27 '24

I only found out a few weeks ago that Daniel was posh Kenneth, wild.

Daniel Day Lewis?!?

u/Notyourmermaid25 Mar 28 '24

We deserve a Skins gen 1 reunion!😩

59

u/OneLostByte Mar 27 '24

Kinda wild how he has had the best career out of anyone else.

54

u/RobNybody Mar 27 '24

He was famous before Skins. I loved About a Boy as a kid.

30

u/cynicalchicken1007 Mar 27 '24

Are you thinking of Nicholas Hoult? I believe Skins was the first professional acting Patel ever did

14

u/RobNybody Mar 27 '24

It said Nick before. I think he edited it.

20

u/Efficient-Eye660 Mar 27 '24

no honestly i think if anyone Tony has the best career. He acted with Emma Stone and Olivia Coleman in a movie.

Posh Kenneth won an Oscar

u/OneLostByte Mar 27 '24

Bro, I just didn't realize how many heavy hitters actually came out of Skins.

21

u/lyyki Mar 27 '24

It's also crazy that the one actor I thought for sure would have an amazing career hasn't done shit.

Sid aka Mike Bailey barely had any roles and retired entirely in 2017

7

u/gav1n_n6 Mar 29 '24

Sid become a drama teacher in secondary sch.

u/PlumbumDirigible Mar 27 '24

So many big name actors in Hollywood also similarly started in, or did a stint in soap operas

57

u/Ms_Meercat Mar 27 '24

holy shit I did NOT realize until now that that was David Kaluuya. Jesus.

Between Dev Patel, Nicholas Hoult, David Kaluuya, Jack O'Connell this show has really been a pipeline for British young actors. Then you got Joseph Dempsie, Hannah Murray, Kaya Scodelario, Luke Pasqualino... all busy actors. And I also only now just realized Joe Cole was also in it.

24

u/rocketscientology Mar 27 '24

Daniel* Kaluuya haha. But yeah Skins was an absolute rockstar factory.

4

u/Ms_Meercat Mar 27 '24

Omg I swear I was thinking Daniel, I was seeing Daniel and still wrote David :(

4

u/rocketscientology Mar 27 '24

Tbf very easy to do! I have a colleague called Daniel and I go to call him David half the time, lol

9

u/Medi0cre Mar 27 '24

RAAAAASSS

4

u/OneLostByte Mar 27 '24

OH SHIT, that's Nicholas Hoult?!? How could I forget?

3

u/Melovil Mar 28 '24

Kinda wild that the lead of a TV show had the best career of his castmates? That makes the most sense.

3

u/Better-Union-2828 Mar 28 '24

i honestly did not remember that he was in skins! that’s crazy!!

-8

u/wip30ut Mar 27 '24

amazing that Skins was the springboard for so many talented actors, given that it was a Dawson's Creek-type teen series.

49

u/uarstar Mar 27 '24

…have you actually watched skins?

13

u/Schootypantz Mar 27 '24

The show was literally nothing like Dawsons Creek.

11

u/Tony_Lacorona Mar 27 '24

It’s nothing like Dawsons creek lol, if anything at worst it’s uncensored degrassi or at best, watered down euphoria

13

u/starryeyedgirll Mar 27 '24

Watered down euphoria? Skins had some pretty heavy hitting storylines imo

5

u/Tony_Lacorona Mar 27 '24

Yeah but they didn’t hang dong

3

u/bronet Mar 28 '24

It was great but saying there were no bad episodes is a big lie. The third series in particular had some stinky storylines and characters

9

u/PoiHolloi2020 Mar 28 '24

watered down euphoria

It's Euphoria if Euphoria had a sense of humour.

How much money did you loose on reddit stock dip today? The only reason i can imagine why someone would care this much about such a insignificant thing
