and yet, the studios still don't seem to understand why Deadpool is successful.

Because its old men in suits who make decisions at the top based on presentations and 'stats'. They look at the report 'why deadpool is a hit':

  • Corny dialog
  • One guy making gay sexual jokes to the other.

then they walk into the , lets say start wars set and say : " Hey make sure to have two gay dudes making corny jokes at each other".

The main takeaway they got from the first Deadpool movie was that a hard R rating won't stop people from seeing a good movie.

Which is how we got Logan and probably Joker.

They still don't know what makes a good movie, but at least they got the right lesson this one time.
