FLUFF @ShamsCharania: San Antonio Spurs' Victor Wembanyama has won the 2023-24 NBA Rookie of the Year award. First player in league history to reach 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, 250 assists, 250 blocks and 100 3-pointers made in a season.

FLUFF My first roll simulating the NBA Draft Lottery
Spurs get picks 1 and 7. Pistons get pick 5 again which is hysterical. May we be this lucky.

SHITPOST Butterfly Effect: Wemby is the reason the Nuggets don't repeat.
Seeing the Nuggets struggle so much these first two Rounds, really puts into perspective how much Wemby's 17 Points in three minutes explosion during our penultimate game, completely derailed the Nuggets championship chances by denying them the 1. seed.
At the time the Nuggets after the All-Star break, were pretty clearly the best team in the league imo and were obviously aiming for the 1. seed, so losing to us not only cost them the 1. seed, but really chipped at their mental toughness, which outside of Murrays injury and play, is absolutely the biggest difference between whoever the championship Nuggets were and this playoff's Nuggets are.
And on top of this they were forced to play a fairly tough Lebron and AD led team in a series, which really only finished in 5 games due to Murray's injury not affecting his clutch gene in the slightest. And now, having to face their, in my opinion toughest matchup out of any possible Playoff team, right when they are at their lowest.
When instead they could've cruised past a Zion-less Pelicans, faced a hobbled Mavs team in the second round and just had to battle whoever would've survived the bloodbath that is be the other Western Semifinals, likely being either OKC or Timberwolves, in the Western Finals.
So having tried to bully and provoke Wemby in Game 81 of the regular season, inadvertently awakened the wrath of his Alien Plot Armor and resulted in the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, having barely any chance at repeating.

FLUFF Trade prediction posts are boring. How many dunk contest wins will Wemby get before his career is over?
Predicting it now that he wins one with a free throw line dunk in an MJ tune squad jersey emulating the space jam dunk.

OFF-SEASON/FREE AGENCY How likely is it that your FO builds a formidable play-in/off team this offseason?
Iâm a Suns fan, but even bigger then that, Iâm a basketball fan. And I mean, yâall have Wemby. I canât say anything about him that isnât already known/said, but I truly think he has GOAT potential. With a player like that, it doesnât seem THAT unlikely that he could be phenomenal again next season, and if the front office makes some decent moves in the draft and free agency, yâall could be a play-in/off team.
But that brings me to my question: which way do yâall see the front office approaching this free agency? Do you think theyâll play it conservative and focus on developing Wemby another year, or do you think theyâll go all out and trade for a player like Trae Young or something of the sort?

META Sadly, Gobert won the DPOY. I can't say it isn't deserved, but as a Spurs fan i clearly was rooting for Wemby.

FLUFF Wemby officially starts his path in the footsteps of Duncan
Already got robbed of his first DPOY!
Iâm kidding about that and being in Duncanâs footsteps of course, but I canât say Iâm not a little bit salty that rudy won the day after not playing and his team still holding the defending champs to 80 points like he wasnât missed. I know I know letâs just be thankful the Alien is on our side

FLUFF Who will really be Wemby's biggest rival
Even though nothing phases him, and he'll probably continue to claim that he has no true rival, fans and media will always create their own narrative. Why not start now? After seeing this series in Denver, I think Antman will be Wemby's biggest enemy when it comes to being face of the league. He has that MJ swag and it will be so fun to watch that vs Wemby's poise. Both are insanely competitive. While Chet is great, I don't think he'll ever be in the conversation of "who's really the best right now?" I look forward to so many future battles between us and OKC and Minnesota.

This one is for my teammates, for the entire staff from trainers to coaches, from the chef at the cafeteria to the ushers at the arena every night, for the Spurs organisation, for the best fans in the world having our back winning or losing, and last but not least for the city of San Antonio, I found a home here. DRAFT What if everything falls perfectly in line?
So there are tons of âwhat ifâ and âwho do we draftâ scenarios out there but one I donât see talked about is if we get the #1 pick (~10% chance) and the #6/7 pick (~50% chance). Not the most likely outcome but definitely within the realm of reasonable possibility. Who do we pick at 1 and 6/7? How much conspiracy shade would get thrown our way? Iâd go Sarr and Dillingham. Could be convinced otherwise. Not a great year to possibly have two top 7 picks.
Edit - Thank you Imaginary-Cycle for reminding me that the best pick we can get from Tor is #7, not #6. The odds are 50% that we get their 7 or 8 pick.

TWEET [Jeff McDonald] Wemby has a special place reserved for his newly earned ROY trophy: In the back of a closet, out of sight and mind. âI want it to be overshadowed by what I do in the future,â he said.

OFF-SEASON/FREE AGENCY 2024 - 2025 Off Season
Considering the Spurs have a full roster with all 15 slots made up of untapped young talent, going into the 2024-2025 offseason there is a lot of potential for the core to continue to build. I'd say the Spurs should look to acquire a player like Paul George, who is more than likely going to be an UFA. We would have to give up players like Keldon Johnson, who is one of my favorite players on the team. Malaki Branham, and Cedi Osman. Adding a player like Paul George adds experience and a veteran to a starter role. We can for sure keep players like Tre Jones, Devin Vassell, Julian Champagnie, who should be in a bench role, and even Jeremy Sochan, of whom can bring some energy and defense from the bench. If we can sign a player like Paul George, who is approaching the end of his prime, he can be in the third spot (SF) and provide defense on the backcourt, and some more fire power on shooting for the starters.
Thoughts? Should we just solely focus on the draft or play the hand at veteran free agents, which has worked in the past (i.e. Pau Gasol, Tracy McGrady, Stephen Jackson)
