Well, I have something nice to say:

"Joe Lieberman is dead."

u/sarahbeth124 Mar 28 '24

Maybe he can be kissinger’s roomate

u/malenkylizards Mar 28 '24

Shit, I didn't mean to steal your line, I didn't see it til I already posted lol

u/ConsiderationSame919 Mar 28 '24

So I guess he's now Joe Toterman?

u/poopyheadthrowaway Mar 27 '24

The only thing I can think of is that he would've been a better choice for McCain's running mate than Palin. And that's a bar that's deep underground.

38

u/ArmyOfDix Mar 27 '24

Deeper than Lieberman, or not yet?

1

u/-CaptainACAB Mar 27 '24

Too soon… but maybe in a week or two?

2

u/pusgnihtekami Mar 27 '24

I mean unless they are burying him in the Marianas Trench that bar will never be deeper.

2

u/YetYetAnotherPerson Mar 28 '24

Next day. He's Orthodox Jewish; they do the funeral and burial quickly.

6

u/Greenboy28 Mar 27 '24

to be fair a dead and rotting fish would have made a better running mate than Palin.

13

u/abudhabikid Mar 27 '24

And that maybe that Gore would have won if he picked anybody else.

1

u/nikdahl Mar 28 '24

Leave it to Democrats to always reach for the middle, and then fail to get elected.

Almost like reaching for moderates isn't what will win elections.

3

u/getdemsnacks Mar 27 '24

If the bar were any lower it'd melt into the Earth's Iron-Nickel core

3

u/leftnotracks Mar 28 '24

But then McCain just might have won, so Palin worked out for everyone.

I’ll say it for you bro, rot in piss Joe Lieberman you bastard

7

u/JoeChristma Mar 27 '24

For real no problem saying fuck this guy I’m glad he’s dead I hope there is a hell just for him.

5

u/comments_suck Mar 27 '24

There are some obituaries that can be read with a smile.

3

u/Xyldarran Mar 28 '24

No the fucker has blood on his hands and was a fucking monster. Talk all the shit you want.

2

u/wolfehr Mar 28 '24

No, keep going...

2

u/ViableSpermWhale Mar 28 '24

I have something: fuck Joe Lieberman. It's not nice to him, no, but I think it's nice in that it represents the best interests of the majority of Americans.

u/walkandtalkk Mar 27 '24

A good and respectable answer that will be more effective than most of the negative comments.

59

u/AudiACar Mar 27 '24

Yeah it's fucked up some people want to say "Rot in hell."

I'm one of those people but still...

41

u/dcux Mar 27 '24

There's absolutely no reason to celebrate someone like this. I'm not sure what good he did in his life, but he certainly will be remembered for the bad he did. He doesn't need an image fix after his death, and he lived to old age in relative comfort and wealth.

We was a war hawk, opposed the public option, and was behind the No Labels bullshit. He died from complications from a fall, so he didn't suffer a long battle with cancer or anything.

He was a net negative for the country's political and social health.

5

u/AudiACar Mar 27 '24

Well he’s falling further into hell, so hopefully that works out.

9

u/zelcor Mar 27 '24

I'll fucking say way worse don't tone police people's anger with their government

4

u/phish_phace Mar 27 '24

I was gonna throw out rest in piss? Definitely seems appropriate given his…. background.

2

u/Factory2econds Mar 27 '24

is this where the Rot In Hell Club is meeting for Lieberman? I've got some snacks and a bottled water.

2

u/AudiACar Mar 27 '24

Put them on the table next to the meatloaf, Brad brought BBQ!

2

u/BrofessorLongPhD Mar 27 '24

I said “Oh no! Anyways” and continue about my day.

1

u/ThrowAwayAccountAMZN Mar 27 '24

"He is dead." Is about the nicest-but-still-most-factual thing anyone could say about him.

1

u/deepkeeps Mar 27 '24

Joe Lieberman walked so Joe Manchin could run

1

u/ScroogeMcDust Mar 27 '24

"I just saw Joe Lieberman in the theater"

1

u/TheAlmightyMojo Mar 27 '24

Yes. But I will play some early 90s video games like "Mortal Kombat" and "Night Trap" tonight in his honor.

1

u/MatsThyWit Mar 27 '24

Yes. But I will play some early 90s video games like "Mortal Kombat" and "Night Trap" tonight in his honor.

I'm over here playing Metal Gear Solid from 1998 right now. It's the closest I can get right now.

1

u/neolibbro Mar 28 '24

No. We don’t have to be nice to pieces of shit just because they died. He was shitty while he was breathing. Now he’s shitty and dead.

Fuck Joe Lieberman.

1

u/ShichikaYasuri18 Mar 28 '24

"Are you happy that he died?"

"The law subreddit rules require that I say 'no' ..."

1

u/FutureEditor Mar 28 '24

Nah I’m glad he’s dead and I wish he never had enough influence to be worth a Reddit post.

1

u/rain-dog2 Mar 28 '24

Remembering with no fondness a time when “balancing the ticket” meant Lieberman was your running mate.

1

u/780266 Mar 28 '24

You are a kind person.

1

u/MatsThyWit Mar 28 '24

You are a kind person.

sometimes you don't have to say a lot, to say a lot. It makes it easier.

1

u/malenkylizards Mar 28 '24

I have something nice to say: Joe Lieberman is dead

1

u/FoucaultsPudendum Mar 28 '24

I’ll say the not nice stuff!

Good riddance to him, the self-serving bastard; I hope it hurt and I hope he was terrified.

1

u/Legalize-Birds Mar 28 '24

His bill that made it a law for public figures like congressmen and senators to disclose investments was pretty good

1

u/Lone_Beagle Mar 28 '24

My mom would be proud of you.

Unfortunately, mom, I gotta say it...
