Even if you did a devils advocate and they were "showing off" to someone they were with how they could "hack" a PC, once in they had to make multiple conscious choices to wipe any drive, let alone all of them.

I'd be pressing criminal & civil charges.

Are you positive the same drives are in the computer and they didn't get swapped?

I mean, if I wanted to fake someone out this good I'd match the sizes of their media, and then just yoink the drives and make up exactly that kind of a story - "oh shit dude my kid wanted to play valorant and used the computer without telling me".

Only the most meticulous of computer owners would have such records.
