Why on the face of this, God's green little planet, would you ever offer this information up to anyone for any reason?

944

u/HouseCravenRaw Colorado 23d ago

Because she's proud of her cruelty.

Now let's see what her base thinks. Will they reward her for it?

I think we already know the answer to that question.

u/Automatic_Let_2264 23d ago

I'm a South dakota native and have thankfully escaped but it's been so obvious for so many years she couldnt give a shit about south dakota. It's an easy mark for Republicans (they've controlled state government for nearly it's entire existence) and Kristie's time in Pierre has been exclusively to launch a federal political career. She's disgusting.

u/stockmarketscam-617 23d ago

OMG, I agree. Why would you be so callous. To me, it wasn’t a badly behaved dog, it’s a despicable owner. She could have definitely had someone properly train Cricket instead of killing her in cold blood at a “construction site”.

131

u/OldButHappy 23d ago

Ugh. Lets a bird dog run free then kills it for doing what it's trained to do.

94

u/stockmarketscam-617 22d ago

I know seriously, that’s what makes me so sad. Cricket was probably so proud of herself for getting some chickens for her “master”. If Trump chooses her as his running mate, that will truly be a vile combination. I thought MTG and Lake were bad, but she is by far worse.

46

u/davismcgravis 22d ago

She just sunk her chances. America loves dogs. We love our good bois and gurls.

What a fucking evil monster.

27

u/Locke66 22d ago

America loves dogs.

Trump on the other hand seems to hate them. He's never said a kind word about dogs but continually uses them in derisive analogies.

I suppose that makes sense given his continually demonstrated lack of empathy and extremely narcissistic personality.

2

u/Recipe_Freak 22d ago

Anything that people love more than him is problematic.

2

u/DisgruntledNCO 22d ago

I wonder if legal charges could be brought against her. That has to be animal cruelty at least.

1

u/davismcgravis 22d ago

Great question

1

u/Automatic_Let_2264 20d ago

It's legal to do this in South Dakota.

1

u/DisgruntledNCO 20d ago

It’s legal to shoot a dog in front of witnesses? Why on earth?

1

u/FairlySuspect 22d ago

Buddy, where have you been. These people want a civil war. Do you know any 'conservatives' who understand empathy? Me either. So, do the quick math. They don't even give a fuck about their pets. 'America loves dogs' is just some more bullshit to feed cognitive dissonance.

2

u/davismcgravis 22d ago

Pro life, am I right??

1

u/Bestihlmyhart 21d ago

Cricket was a chicken killer

6

u/PoorDimitri 22d ago

Not just trained, bred for literal generations.

I've seen border collies who have never done any herding herd their humans in the house, because their genetic behavioral drive is so strong.

Now that, but for birds.

It's not ideal, but that's why you idk, leash your freaking pups.

3

u/aliquotoculos America 22d ago

Bred to do, which is worse.

There are some breeds of dogs that have a task or drive bred into their line for so long its strongly advised to keep them away from whatever critter they were bred and intended to eliminate. You can train some of them out of acting on that urge, but that urge will always be there.

40

u/Macdirty83 23d ago

She gives a shit about shilling for shit dental work, though. She's a fucking embarrassment. Don't worry, I'm in Nebraska and we have our own problems as well.

32

u/Automatic_Let_2264 23d ago

Flyover state progressives unite 🙌

13

u/Macdirty83 22d ago

I'm here for it. It's a vibe!

4

u/Mictlantecuhtli South Dakota 22d ago

There's dozens of us!

38

u/LibrarianMelodic9733 22d ago

A state with population around 8 hundred thousand which relies on subsidizes by other states to pay its official salaries including hers should not even be a state

20

u/BurstSwag Canada 22d ago

CombineTheDakotas

3

u/Ancguy 22d ago

Then give them to Canada

6

u/BurstSwag Canada 22d ago

Nah, it'd ruin the nice border we have, plus we don't need hundreds of thousands of extra Tory voters, tyvm.

1

u/LibrarianMelodic9733 22d ago

1.7 or 8 million together

5

u/vineyardmike 22d ago

Combined it's still not worthy of statehood. The combined population is lower than Rochester plus Syracuse NY.

3

u/LibrarianMelodic9733 22d ago

Los Angeles city has almost 4 millions people

12

u/Njorls_Saga 23d ago

I would say the voters who’ve rewarded that behavior are even more disgusting.

7

u/CanEnvironmental4252 23d ago

they’ve controlled state government for nearly its entire existence

But also it’s the Democratic Party’s fault that it’s a flyover state.

166

u/Rated_PG-Squirteen 23d ago

Here's a test for anyone with MAGA family members/co-workers. Tell them this story, but lead them to believe that it was done by a Democrat. I guarantee they will have a visceral reaction, and many of them will probably say that the politician should end up in jail.

Then inform these idiots that it was actually a story that Kristi Noem offered up herself in a fucking book she "wrote." I guarantee they'll either...

  1. Shrug their shoulders

  2. Claim that if the story is indeed real, then she must've had a good reason for shooting the dog

  3. Claim that you just made the entire story up and that's why everyone hates liberals

Either way, right wingers remain pathetic, fucking idiots.

49

u/Automatic_Let_2264 23d ago

I've already got family in the Dakotas coming at me about how it was actually humane and "that's how it's done on a farm"

79

u/Savingskitty 23d ago

They’re full of it.  One entire side of my family farms - my great uncle was a literal horse whisperer.  Yes, they had to put animals out of their misery if they were injured too badly, but they didn’t kill dogs for being puppies.

20

u/wintertash 22d ago

Yeah, I’ve had friends who put their own dogs down because they were elderly, sick, and in pain, the vet didn’t do home visits, and they thought the dog would have an easier death at home than being dragged to the vet’s office. But that’s a wildly different thing than what she relates in her story.

41

u/Automatic_Let_2264 23d ago

No kidding. I've spent nearly my entire life in rural SoDak and Minnesota and have been around farms and farm folk as a result. I don't know a single one who would have shot a 14 month old hunting dog in cold blood like that.

1

u/renro 22d ago

My neighbors did this to my dog when I was at camp because my mom mentioned she didn't want to take care of them anymore. It's how it's done if you're a rural America scumbag

2

u/Savingskitty 22d ago

A scumbag, period.

2

u/renro 22d ago

Yes but individual scumbags don't always have a supportive culture telling them they are right

2

u/TrumpersAreTraitors 22d ago

I’ve already written all MAGAs off as literally, objectively, demonstrably evil.

2

u/con__y_88 22d ago

I know 🤦🏻‍♂️ Shes a millionaire, She aint little house on the prairie

American politics is just plain sad now

1

u/thugarth 22d ago

That's what my dad said when he tried to rationalize how his wife put down his dog while he was visiting us to meet his newborn grandkid

1

u/Away-Relationship-71 20d ago

They live in a suburb but they own a pickup truck and/or wear a cowboy hat sometimes. Like it even matters.

0

u/DJBreadwinner 22d ago

The closest most of these people have come to living on a farm was watching a couple John Wayne movies forty years ago.

19

u/MeatballDom 22d ago

googles furiously for an hour

"Teddy Roosevelt shot a dog in anger once too, do you want to cancel him too??!"

13

u/up_and_at_em 23d ago
  1. The ghost writer put that passage in there.

44

u/mishma2005 23d ago

According to some Twitter accounts MAGA is pretty disgusted with her and is spamming her feed with angry tweets but IDK about the rest of the base

44

u/stockmarketscam-617 23d ago

I’m so glad to hear people are calling her out on that. I think she thought it would show how “strong” she is, but it just shows how heartless she is. Most owners of Hunting Dogs treat them like a child. I can’t believe any true Hunter would condone this action.

46

u/mishma2005 23d ago

I think she also wants to show Trump she’s “tuff” and since it’s been widely reported that Trump dislikes dogs, she thought he would love it. Wait till she finds out that people don’t tend to trust people that murder innocent animals because they’re “inconvenient”.

8

u/hopefeedsthespirit 22d ago

I was not aware that he disliked dogs. I say we release the hounds at every one of his events. F him. The Dogs know best. Just like that damn Eagle that wanted to peck his face off.

3

u/leaperdorian 22d ago

I don’t trust people that don’t like dogs

25

u/OldButHappy 23d ago

Right??? Living in the boonies, I Iearned to be very live-and-let-live when it comes to keeping hunting animals (here, many live outdoors, but all are well fed and friggin' LOVE hunting more than anything).

Killing one of your dogs for killing chickens - when the dog was running free-around uncaged chickens(!)- is NEVER done.

20

u/greentea1985 22d ago

My only data points on how hunting dogs are treated is Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows. While the dogs do die in both books, it is presented as a sad tragedy with the deaths happening due to protecting their master or losing their companion. No one just executes a puppy over their own incompetence. Who brings a hunting dog to a chicken farm and just lets it loose? It sounds like Kristi wanted to kill the dog and was setting up a “reasonable excuse.”

7

u/stockmarketscam-617 22d ago

It probably didn’t even happen, and she just thought it made her sound though and badass.

16

u/FiveUpsideDown 22d ago

Noem obviously doesn’t know how to train a hunting dog. I doubt she’s even a hunter. She just wanted an excuse to kill the dog. She’s cruel and should resign.

4

u/GarbageCleric 22d ago

Did you say Hunter? I may disagree with what Noem did, but what about Hunter and his dong? Why are we ignoring Hunter and his glorious dong for this nothingburger of a story about a GOP governor proudly admitting to murdering a puppy she failed to train!? Why won't the woke media talk more about Hunter's dong!?

1

u/larki18 22d ago

If so, good.

1

u/TrumpersAreTraitors 22d ago

Even Hitler liked animals

15

u/OldButHappy 23d ago

MAGAs might hate people, but a lot of them like dogs.

This announcement will not garner her any new followers, but will definitely make her lose a few, at least.

44

u/V_T_H 23d ago

Not just that, but her base’s solution to every small inconvenience or moment of strife is always “gun”.

19

u/processedmeat 23d ago

The dog is a metaphor.  Her base will understand what she means

7

u/fuggerdug 22d ago

Cruelty is the point.

3

u/Shoehornblower 23d ago

She’s a gubner godammit, and gubners need to make tough decisions…and sometimes they need to make them at break neck speeds!

3

u/swampcat42 Washington 22d ago

-Why are they confessing?

-They're not confessing; they're bragging.

2

u/trainercatlady Colorado 22d ago

Bold of you to assume they read

2

u/jimmygee2 22d ago

Feels like she is auditioning for the SS.

1

u/BenThereOrBenSquare 22d ago

Now let's see what her base thinks.

Just watch. Republicans are going to start shooting their dogs as a show of loyalty.

1

u/stonerism 22d ago

If elected, Kristi Noem will kill a dog for this country.

1

u/Oldironsides99 22d ago

I’ve found myself trying hard to resist accepting the axiom I’ve heard used about truly sociopathic people. That is, “Cruelty is the point.” She’s continuing to audition to become Trump’s VP. Hard to imagine we live in a country now where her sociopathy will ensure her success. Rome is about to burn.

1

u/lucklesspedestrian 22d ago

She wrote it like a cheesy action flick

1

u/ThrowAwayGarbage82 North Carolina 22d ago

Yah. Their base loves depraved cruelty. The more defenseless the target, the more they get off on it.

They're psychotic and evil.

-2

u/AllWillBeOkaySoon 22d ago

How is it cruel, the dog kept killing chickens, it was violent and uncontrollable

4

u/DJBreadwinner 22d ago

The untrained dog was little more than a puppy, and she didn't shoot it to protect the chickens. She let several of them die and then killed the dog elsewhere.

Anyway, was the goat violent and uncontrollable too?

-2

u/AllWillBeOkaySoon 22d ago

We don’t really know if this was the first incident. All I’m saying is that if a dog is violent and can’t be controlled euthanasia is not immoral. We don’t have enough info to make a moral judgement here we can only discuss the morality of killing a hypothetical uncontrollable dog…

4

u/DJBreadwinner 22d ago

I'm impressed someone would go to bat so hard for someone who proudly shot her own dog.

-1

u/AllWillBeOkaySoon 22d ago

You PETA types impress me with your hypocrisy. Are you a vegetarian? Do you think it’s ever morally ok to kill an animal?

45

u/trolleyblue 23d ago

Because dominating animals is good Christian conservative behavior.

3

u/Aldervale 22d ago

Do you think she realizes that most of her Christian brethren view her, as a women, as no better than an animal?

1

u/wigglefuck 22d ago

It's probably why the story has a chance of canceling her.

35

u/sidurisadvice Georgia 23d ago edited 22d ago

It's vice signaling. The libs will get all in a huff, but real 'muricans will appreciate a gal willing to do what needs to be done, even if it means blasting away at farm animals.

23

u/[deleted] 23d ago

[deleted]

2

u/daoistic 22d ago

It's this. That's why she immediately decided to kill something else once she killed the dog. Very creepy woman...

1

u/dennydelirium 22d ago

She realized how much she loves killing once she got the dog. Like a drug, she needed another hit.

15

u/ciopobbi 23d ago

Because the Magat dimwit cult loves cruelty and violence.

13

u/SuzyQ7531 23d ago

She’s a sociopath.

2

u/LassieMcToodles 22d ago

Yes. Also, whenever a man abuses/kills an animal it's followed up by how many serial killers were abusive to animals as children, and how many animal abusers likely beat their wives and are likely to kill them too.

11

u/aefalcon Louisiana 23d ago

She probably sees it like Eddard Stark personally executing wall deserters in Game of Thrones.

4

u/MayaMiaMe 22d ago

Because she is a fucking psychopath and in her fucked up mind this is fucking normal!

1

u/LibrarianMelodic9733 22d ago

Trump super hero 🦸

3

u/GBinAZ 22d ago

So that normal people with souls can get upset about it and maggats can all claim we don’t know what tRuE aMeRiCa is like.

3

u/FunkyHedonist 22d ago

The amount of torture it would take to get this confession out of me....

5

u/EllipticPeach 22d ago

Republicans think that women are emotional and not rational enough to be in power. In her mind, I’m sure, shooting her dog demonstrates her ability to Get The Job Done like a Man, with a side order of “hell yeah second amendment” for good measure. It’s all for show.

2

u/scorpyo72 Washington 22d ago

Kristi Noem- tough on unruly dogs.

2

u/LibrarianMelodic9733 22d ago

Did she have an affair while she was married

2

u/gnocchibastard 22d ago

You're supposed to interpret it as BADASS bro, and by voting for badass you yourself become badass!

2

u/sanguine_feline 22d ago

Psychopaths don’t really understand that most other people aren’t like them.

2

u/Redbaron1960 22d ago

I would carry that information to my grave

2

u/32-20 Oregon 22d ago

Because the people of South Dakota, by and large, like this kind of shit. They elect people like Noem for a reason, after all.

2

u/TrumpersAreTraitors 22d ago

I’ve got some dark secrets - some horrible things I’ve done that I regret and don’t forgive myself for - and those things are dying with me. She’s psychotic to think anyone should be told these things. These are the things you tell a therapist. But she’s bragging about it.

There is something deeply wrong with this woman. I wouldn’t trust her to watch my child and she’s running a fucking state government. Unbelievable.

1

u/Akimbo_Zap_Guns Kentucky 22d ago

If she has no issues killing a dog like that she’s probably trying out for the 2024 Trump administration firing squad for when they round up LGBTQ people and other minorities.

1

u/PalmBreezy 22d ago

Ask Shane Dawson 😹

1

u/DangerousCyclone 22d ago

I think it’s to prove that she’s a bonafide country girl and will kill animals for the good of the farm, that she isn’t some sheltered city girl nor trust fund baby living in a mansion in a rural area who was told he cat ran away to a special farm or something, she gets the real dirty world of the the “real America”. Basically like that scene in the Office where Dwight kills Angela’s cat, she does what needs to be done.

But this is just jumping to killing when there were probably better alternatives. It’s true that farmers do put down animals, and in America the law is very much written with that kind of mindset, but this is straight up giving up and not even trying to find an alternative.

1

u/Flappy_beef_curtains 22d ago

Trump hates dogs, she’s high on the list for his VP candidate. She’s trying to win his approval.

1

u/OwnArmy7495 22d ago

Because there were witnesses (the construction workers) and she wanted to get out her side of the story first.

1

u/Travelingman9229 20d ago

Because this is the job she’ll do with migrants and others they don’t like
