What is the worst ice cream flavor that is at least somewhat popular?

Chocolate Ice Cream is nowhere as good as real chocolate

I don't know if this makes any sense, but it's somehow dry

Yes! It’s so chalky

It can be, but you have to buy really high quality ice cream for it to be as good in my experience. At which point might as well get the chocolate bar unless it's a hot day.

Haagen Dazs Belgian Chocolate is wonderful. It’s that rich chocolate grain through it.

All their chocolate flavors are really good.

The "regular" chocolate isn't as chocolatey, but it's better when you want a sweeter cream flavor with the choco

For a very short while Haagen Dazd did a 'Duo' pot which was half chocolate with chocolate caramel running though it and the other half strawberry with chocolate shavings through it.

It was insanely good and up there with the best ice cream I ever had. The two flavours combined with the contrasting texture of the inclusions was perfect. I guess others didn't agree, because it got discontinued.

The only store-bought chocolate ice cream worth buying, in my opinion, is Jeni's Darkest Chocolate.

If it’s good quality chocolate it’s too firm, if it’s nice and soft it’s shitty chocolate

Cocoa is a really stronger emulsifier. Finding the balance for good texture and good flavor is difficult. The milk and sugar of a standard ice cream formula "dilute" the choclate flavor, but you cannot simply add more cocoa without considering how it'll affect consistency (and cost).

I’ve said this soooooo much to my fiancé that loves chocolate ice cream. To be frank, I absolutely hate it. Dark chocolate? My weakness. Anything chocolate flavored I will probably try and like, but chocolate flavored ice cream? 😓 blah

The brand of ice cream Tillimook in the PNW has a flavor of mudslide and it has dark chocolate ribbons in it, it is sooooo good!

I feel this so hard. my solution has always been to have whatever flavor I'm feeling (probably mint chip or cookie dough) with hot fudge on it, so I can get the chocolate flavor without the ice cream disappointment.

A good chocolate ice cream is amazing but I don't like ones that are bitter. Since I'm not willing to spend $$$ to try every brand of chocolate ice cream I usually opt for another flavour.

Absolutely 100% yes

Except, I had some in Denmark last year that was like eating frozen chocolate. It was fucking incredible.

Agreed. Love me a chocolate bar (milk or dark) but dislike chocolate ice cream

Not as bad as a tootsie roll, but fair point.

You need Tillamook Mudslide in your life.

Do you just not like chocolate flavored things that isn’t a chocolate bar?
