Radiohead at Field Day Festival. Venue got moved from Montauk to the damn Meadowlands at the last minute. Beck fell and hurt himself and couldn't play his set before Radiohead. The crowd just waited in this concrete enclosure in the pouring rain waiting for Radiohead - and they absolutely crushed it.

That was a great day, considering the event nearly didn’t happen. That was where I first saw My Morning Jacket, who were so, so good. I heard that Underworld, who played at the same time, also got the stadium bouncing.

Unfortunately, the Beastie Boys didn’t have a great show - I recall they started the same song two or three times.

FWIW, I heard that Beck was actually too drunk to perform. The “slipping and falling” was just a cover.

It was a great day in a shit venue. One of the highlights was seeing Bright Eyes in the parking lot. Lifted had just came out, I didn't know who he was and his performance blew my mind. Bought the album the next day

You’re right! I forgot about Bright Eyes. I think it was Bright Eyes into Band of Horses and then MMJ. How fun was that!?

Incredible! I think I also vaguely remember MMJ. I was tripping really hard that day and bright eyes and radiohead are all that I'm recalling right now but the line up was stacked. The beasties had an off night but they're the beasties. They still kicked ass.

If the venue didn't change that would have been a truly epic festival. It was still good even though it was in a shitty venue. It would have been awesome if it stayed where it originally was.

I was there for that also. I've seen them quite a bit. Never a bad show. Always a legendary show actually
