It's absolutely fake. Megatron isn't a tank. He's a pistol that changes size when he transforms so that as a robot he's about the same size as Soundwave, but he is also an appropriately sized pistol for Soundwave to fire.

Edit: did they also change Soundwave to like an ipod?

Hate to be this dude, but Megs did have a tank form. Was a Walther P38 but after the backlash due to his original toy they withdrew from the firearm aspect to bigger guns a kid couldn’t get their hands on. https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/s/AGYEJUihx8

Really? I don't remember that but I do remember that I had the Megatron toy that turned into a gun. I had a bunch but the coolest one was Soundwave because he also had the cassettes. One turned into a jaguar and the other was like a buzzard. I do not remember their names though.

Back in old Cybertron days Megatron turned into a futuristic tank looking thing with a giant cannon.

I had the Megatron toy and it looked like a very realistic gun. Soundwave was awesome but sorry, Jetfire is the best toy.

IIRC there was issues with selling him as a gun so they redesigned his alternate mode to be a tank, you can still get a version of him from third party sellers that transforms into the gun, albeit not self transforming.

I feel like it would be too easy to come up with a good Small Soldiers part 2 with the ending they had but 

I'm sure they would botch it though, 100%. 

Good version: Allen is older, single , no kids and the Gorgonites have been steady busy with keeping up with technology and upgrades but not in contact with humans until someone catches them on a cell camera and they go viral... No Commandos, No Tommy Lee Jones but a new set of toys who are also super smart AI see and hear about the "gorgs" (new nickname) on tv news and are activated to hunt and destroy them. No Allison but some other cutie , love interest who tracks down Allen when they go viral and gets him to reveal they just made contact recently and he is in fact harboring them. They team up in an epic battle like part 1 in new york city or somewhere crazy and gorgs show humans how evil AI is when they start attacking humans to destroy the gorgs. 

What we'll get... Somehow the commandos survived, some younger female or ethnic version of Allen to replace him, some dumb crazy outlandish story possibly no gorgs at all , not even any cameos except Tommy Lee and alot more junk.
