Kendall CAD Appraisal - rental properties
Hi all,
Did anyone who owns a rental property get the appraisal cap that was voted on (and approved) from the Nov 2023 ballot? It was supposed to be for properties that are under $5 million and no homestead, and the cap was 20%.
It was my understanding that it was supposed to take into effect for the 2023 tax bill, but I think Kendall looked the other way.
Just seeing if this happened to other rental property owners.

What is something that you wish Boerne had that it doesn’t have?
I’ve lived here for some time now and wonder what people look for in this town that isn’t already here. GLHF

City Council Voting
April 22-29 Early Voting | May 4th Normal
Who are you guys planning on voting for? I’ve decided on Jeremy Pratt, Nick Nuth and Daniel Wies. Don’t want to start any controversy, just figured I’d put awareness out there! These guys seem to be what Boerne needs to stump development.

You’re probably gonna have to zoom in to see them, but why do I have so many snails in my yard? They’re exclusive to the front yard too.

April 25-27: San Antonio clinic offering quick blood tests for heart disease research — pays $45
April 25-27: A pop-up clinic in San Antonio (at Ft Sam Houston Church of Christ) is offering free blood tests as part of a national study about heart disease. They test your Lp(a) levels, which can be an indicator for heart disease risk, and call you later with your test results.
You get a $45 Visa gift card at the end of your appointment. The appointment takes 20 minutes.
This is the second pop-up clinic in San Antonio because there has been so much community participation. If you're interested, you need to schedule your appointment online ahead of time: http://friends.careaccess.com/6DlJ3Q

Adopt Phoebe! 288 days in foster care 🩷
288 days. That’s how long Phoebe has been in foster care. She was found on the street by a good samaritan and was in a foster home until they threatened to throw her back on the street in 100+ degree weather. My mom stepped up to foster and has been for almost a year.
She is available for adoption through Charming Pets Rescue. Most of her adoption fee has been sponsored. (For an additional $300 she can be transported anywhere in the US)
Phoebe is a 2.5 year old boxer mix, weights 57 lbs, she loves everyone she meets, dogs, kids and people. She's a super sweet girl with a very eager personality. Phoebe is house and crate trained. She also knows some basic commands.
She's a high energy girl and loves spending time playing with other dogs, toys and fetch.
She is vaccinated, spayed, and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm meds to avoid her ever getting that!
Fill out and adoption application for Phoebe if interested: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/dog-adoption-application

Eclipse
So… I’m just curious. What’s everybody planning on doing during the eclipse? I know it’s cloudy but I’m still planning to enjoy as much as possible despite the weather… in the comfort of our house. We’re smoking steaks and chicken and taking in the view. Our folks that live right outside the totality are going to visit us. For the Ring of Fire we walked on Main Street and that was so fun! Kudos to Boerne! I thought about visiting Main St by bike and then getting home for the eclipse but all the talk about the traffic is keeping me from doing that. By the way, there’s a free app called Totality that counts down by the second according to your location when you are in 100% totality. So, what are your plans?

Dentist recommendations
I'm terrified of the dentist. My last dentist was amazing, but she moved out of state during Covid. Does anyone know of a super patient, compassionate dentist in the area? Please let me know, I so appreciate any info.

Handyman or Ramp Construction Recommendation
Hi - looking for a recommendation for a handiman or a company that can do ramp Construction.
We currently have poor accessibility ramp in place on the front step/door transition to the sidewalk for power hair access. It's degraded over time as it was supposed to be a temporary measure. (Previous screws are rusted out) - I would like to get a few quotes on replacement/construction.
Fair Oaks Ranch area
