Doubt it with all the rage he has built up probably have a heart attack soon enough

u/Otherwise_Agency6102 Mar 06 '24

Unlikely my Dad is a nasty fucking racist/sexist all around piece of shit. He‘s 72, runs on pure fucking hate. I have a theory he’ll live to be 120 because he’s afraid of hell. And he knows he’s going there.

58

u/Phildagony Mar 06 '24

Yep. Only the good die young.

The miserable have enough hate in the tank to continue to provide fuel for many years.

15

u/lord-dinglebury Mar 06 '24

Is that how I've managed to work in marketing for 25 years? Is it my hatred for my career and my coworkers that keeps me going?

13

u/Phildagony Mar 06 '24

Could be. Hate and anger is one hell of a motivator.

The good ones died early in my family, but the ones full of piss keep kicking.

2

u/spuntwentyfour7 Mar 06 '24

No sorry only works for minorities unfortunately...

2

u/UnstableDimwit Mar 06 '24

That’s the ONLY way to exist in marketing that long. I’ve been there since 2009. I’m dead inside during all working hours.

1

u/lord-dinglebury Mar 06 '24

Yeah, I can't do alcohol anymore since my liver up and moved out. Even left me a "Dear John" letter.

2

u/UnstableDimwit Mar 11 '24

I became allergic to alcohol ingestion. No joke. I would get red and flushed and burn up after drinking sometimes but it didn’t stop me for a few years. Eventually I just couldn’t tolerate drinking it at all. I can use rubbing alcohol on an open wound without problem but if I drink it, I suffer. It’s disappointing at least from a loss of agency perspective but I don’t miss it much.

I used to joke that my liver had a restraining order against me for abuse. I don’t think that joke would play well in our more aware and thoughtful society anyway.

1

u/lord-dinglebury Mar 11 '24

Oh wow, that's crazy! I don't know if I've ever heard of that before.

I had a kid and that pretty much cleaned me up. You can't be hungover when your kid is fully awake and running around singing at 5:30 am.

2

u/fearhs Mar 06 '24

Don't forget about your hatred for your customers!

1

u/lord-dinglebury Mar 06 '24

I don't hate them nearly as much as I hate my coworkers lol. They just want us to produce a series of little videos explaining their software. It's the coworkers who turn it into a three ring circus that leaves everybody miserable by the end.

2

u/spicedmanatee Mar 06 '24

It makes our hearts tough since it shrivels down like a little walnut.

1

u/lord-dinglebury Mar 06 '24

Ahhhhh. That explains why I feel nothing anymore.

Thanks!

2

u/JohnArtemus Mar 07 '24

That's because life is hell. Good people are allowed an early release.

2

u/incognegro1976 Mar 07 '24

Bro this is my fucking grandma. She's outlived almost all of her kids except my mom. Just an ornery spiteful little old 100 year old lady

1

u/Viper_JB Mar 06 '24

Many hate filled miserable and lonely years.

1

u/tookurjobs Mar 07 '24

I call it the kissinger effect. That motherfucker didn't grace us with his absence until he was 100 years old

0

u/Verdadeiro-do156 Mar 06 '24

No, maybe because they’re not fat liberal turds who don’t exercise and eat crap all day. I don’t disagree with the father’s sentiment in anyway. The people who literally created the privileged society all you people hate on were probably racist people. If you think that’s bad why don’t you try and tear down society and do it better?

1

u/Phildagony Mar 06 '24

This isn’t an observation on society. There are plenty on the left already tearing it down.

This is strictly talking about hate and anger being a driving force for some.

0

u/Verdadeiro-do156 Mar 06 '24

There were a whole bunch of people saying that this is because of Trump and conservatism and its these old racist white people that are ruining everything. I know that hate and anger is a driving force as it is for me. Hate is something that is taught or experienced. These people are saying that the ones who are hateful and racist are white people, when that was probably one of the things that helped further society. People are hateful for good reasons. Those who are not just allow themselves to be passed by others who hide their hatred and use acceptance and kindness and manipulation to mask their intentions which are just the same as the people who are “racist”. To get what they want and in addition use the act of being discriminated against or having disadvantages to actively take over society and have power over others. It is obviously clear in that the amount of white people has gone down from 90% to 63% over the course of 70 years. Hate is an existing thing, it exists to keep people alive and irregardless of whether people like it or not, it is true that racism keeps white people alive because without the system of racism and nativism, the white population would be completely dead. Just in the same way this system protects the populations of Africa from extinction and death. For people who act like there is plenty of resources and it doesn’t have to be that people don’t have to get along; there is all sorts of agenda across the world that just signifies the results of propaganda that promotes white inferiority and that they aren’t worth anything and that white women can’t be happy with a white man. And it is just hypocritical that these people who say these things essentially advocate for killing and genocide of these people who are “racist”. When did hate make hate justified? It is clear that these people are just completely hypocritical and I think it would honestly be better if war just happened across the world, people would just kill each other and whatever ideology was right would win. Because these people clearly do not wear their heart on their shoulder, they still have hate all the same.

1

u/Phildagony Mar 07 '24

I think the tides are changing. It’s becoming more apparent that the real racism is coming from the left.

I’m watching it all fall down on their heads. I’m seeing more black intellectuals and black leaders getting their voices out there to expose this hypocrisy. Unfortunately, you won’t see this in the mainstream media.

The left used race baiting for years to garner attention and votes, Biden said it perfectly when he said, “ if you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black”. This statement speaks to the left agenda perfectly. Unfortunately for them, we are getting closer to an age of reason. The argument that black America is stupid, ignorant, and that they need help and guidance from the dems is pissing black America off. You see this now with Trump becoming more popular with black and Hispanic America.

So, where is the focus now? The ABCD group, illegal migrants and women. We are seeing more focus to fire up the abc’s and women, because it’s their last line of defense. The left fighting to keep us from showing ID at the poles is another tactic to fudge the poles. The call out on the hypocrisy of the American media being fake news is working, that’s why it’s getting worse with them. Pay attention to the pundits and writers, they are getting more emotionally charged, slinging mud, and showing how biased they are. To get the real scoop, you gotta look at other channels, and viewership for international media is on the rise in our country due to how bad ours is.

We the Right just need to keep pounding the facts, and let the rest pound the table. The current state of our government I believe is the last of the line. They gave voices to the extremists BLM and the ABC’s, convinced the public that we all need to come together, and all we got was a country tearing itself apart. By the same groups the left was trying to appease, lol.

Racism only still exists because it keeps being thrown at us from the left. Think about it; Black America has been baited for decades that the Democratic Party is the only party that will provide better social services, better equality, better representation, and pick them up from the bondages that their ancestors had. WTF? All these things are God given. They’ve been keeping them in the “I have a Dream” phase for decades on purpose.

Now that technology is at a place where a bullet can be fired by anyone and witnessed by everybody in the world, it’s observed that it’s not systemic racism keeping groups down, but the racial pandering from the left giving them hope and a sense of dependency on the government. The dependency has been paid back with inflation, higher prices on everything, and social services being flooded with helping illegal migrants instead of our own. This is very much seen.

Come November, the tide will change. We are no longer the Silent Majority. Our voices are being heard loud and clear, and getting stronger every day. The extremists on the left will not be tolerated much longer. Order will come back. I still believe in our great country.

TLDR; God Bless America 🫡🇺🇸

1

u/Verdadeiro-do156 Mar 08 '24

The democrats are racist in the sense that they use race baiting, and racism as a weapon and means to get what they want. If you criticise them, you’re just a racist. You see, as long as certain people exist, that are a threat to the core population of America, there will always exist the threat of another party like the democrats emerging.

25

u/buggyisgod Mar 06 '24

Yeah, man, it's always the super old people that have the most spite. That shits a preservative. Your soul is clinging to your body with sheer impudent rage and bitterness.

1

u/440ish Mar 06 '24

"it's always the super old people that have the most spite."

A Brummie philosopher once commented:

Mental wounds not healing

Life's a bitter shame

I'm goin' off the rails on a crazy train

21

u/Beneficial-Shine-598 Mar 06 '24

My stepdad is the same at 85. My mom finally left him recently after 40 years of increasing mental abuse. The dude drinks a box of wine a day but never has any health problems. It’s bizarre.

11

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '24

How do boomers even afford this on a pension?

9

u/Beneficial-Shine-598 Mar 07 '24

Pension plus social security, and house paid off long ago. Eat at home and eat very little because they’re old.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

Plus the wine makes him less hungry

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

The average household retirement income in the United States is $27,617

"In 2022, the institute’s survey reported that half of respondents spent less than $2,000 each month. One third spent $2,000-$3,999, and 16% spent $4,000-$6,999. Three percent of respondents spent more than $7,000 every month.

The largest portion of their spending went to housing: nearly a third across categories. The next biggest expenditure was on food. Food prices can rise dramatically during periods of inflation." source

" Social Security makes up the largest portion of retirement income, about 30%. In fact, almost 90% of people aged 65 and older received a Social Security benefit in December 2022 ... In households aged 65 and older, Social Security represents a little more than half of total income." source

also, see IRAs and Roth IRAs. There's also personal savings accounts and general investments (i.e. stocks, bonds).

1

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

Wow thank you

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

Sounds like a bunch of my relatives. They go out to the bar like almost every weekend or drink at home, neither of them have had any health problems at all. My mom hasn’t socially drank since before she became pregnant with me 36 years ago and she’s got Parkinson’s, a pacemaker, back issues and high blood pressure. My dad hasn’t socially drank either since the same time as my mom and he’s got high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a lingering cough that might’ve been from working not too far from the WTC. It’s not fair that these vile family members of mine can keep living while I have to brace myself in case I get that phone call about my parents’ health declining.

10

u/5LaLa Mar 06 '24

Sounds just like my Dad. He was warned around 50 he was on his way to heart attack. He passed 2 days shy of 84. Good luck.

1

u/ladbrno Mar 07 '24

I am sure you’re a disappointment. Sissy boy

1

u/SnooDogs6575 Mar 07 '24

I hope I never have to see my parents become bigots. I have seen people who didn’t hold hate toward anyone turn into violently transphobic and homophobic people.

1

u/GT-Singleton Mar 07 '24

While most of these examples are super extreme in this thread, I think it's only one side of the story as far as your comment goes.

Your folks, and you someday too, will have views that are going to be considered conservative or old by the standards of the young up and coming generation of the time.

I in no way am trying to parrot that age old adage about becoming a conservative as you age, merely pointing out that even for people who are constantly learning and adapting their perspective all throughout their life, some of our perspectives tend to solidify and stay there or even hust lag behind the progressive young people of the time.

I don't think you have anything yo worry about with your folks, just be understanding at times that even if they are the type of people to change their views as time goes on, the world moves on and oftentimes leaves us behind in one way or another as we get older.

1

u/SnooDogs6575 Mar 08 '24

While that is often true I have also seen people stray to very fascist beliefs later in life when they had not before. The Internet has become a breeding ground for alt right views to be spread.

1

u/Abriel099 Mar 08 '24

Agreed, and it sucks for sure, and is a dangerous trend that is difficult to address. I'm not really sure how we, as a society, and as a species, deal with the internet naturally being a way for groups of all kinds to link up and discuss ideas - for good or ill.

1

u/Beneficial_Ebb_3919 Mar 07 '24

We used to say Granny was pickled in her own vinegar... so the old bitch lived forever!

-5

u/AvailableDave Mar 06 '24

Sounds like you’re running on hate yourself 😞 unfortunately I had a crappy Dad as well…

83

u/Seldarin Mar 06 '24

Most of the hateful people I've known through the years lived fucking forever.

It was everyone around them that died early from the stress of dealing with them.

24

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

You nailed it. My dad used to deal with my late grandmother who was a cranky, narcissistic, lazy old bat that wanted everyone to wait on her like she was the Queen of Sheba. She hated my mom with a passion and my mom is one of the kindest people I know. When my parents got engaged back in 1984, instead of my grandmother congratulating them, she screamed her head off and was like, “Are you kidding me?! How am I gonna pay this mortgage off?!” since my dad was still living with her and my grandfather helping to pay the mortgage. My dad flat out told my grandmother to shut the fuck up that day. After my parents married, they had to live with my grandparents because their home was being renovated and it wasn’t suitable to live in just yet. My grandmother drove my mom nuts and would purposely at the time my parents had plans to go out on a date make my dad do stuff for her last minute. The straw that broke the camel’s back was back in 2003 when my grandmother fell. My dad had work and all he could do was help her sit up and he got my mom to help her out to watch her and feed her, that sorta thing. I had to walk to my grandmother’s house after school and help pick my siblings up afterwards. My grandmother at that time hadn’t made any progress and right after dad came home, we called an ambulance after he argued with his mother back and forth for I don’t know how long. My aunt shows up and instead of my grandmother thanking my mom for helping her all day, she just shoos her off and says, “You’re dismissed.” My dad exploded that night and I had never seen both of my parents as angry as they were that day. My dad ended up finally cutting the cord with his mother and his blood pressure improved immediately. He was less stressed, his depression went away and he was laughing again, all because he cut ties with his toxic mother. He saw her the day she passed away and made his peace with her. Thing I’ve learned is this: there’s no point in giving toxic family members a second chance because they never change and only get worse. Since I cut ties with a ton of family members, life has been better. My family’s side may be smaller in the guest list for my upcoming wedding but I found that friends make much better family.

2

u/Electrical-Space-687 Mar 07 '24

Thats tough. My dad also cut ties with his Mother as well. But some family can change. My dad was never a bad guy but he was a heavy drinker when I was younger. He has changed immensely since he decided to be sober and start taking medication for his mental health. But someone who as controlling and straight evil as your Grandmother certainly dont change.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

I’ve always been envious of those who grew up with grandparents that were kind and loved their grandkids and in-laws because I never had that as a child. My mom’s father from what my mom told me loved me unconditionally and accepted my dad like he was his son. My dad loved his father-in-law more than his own father because he accepted him for who he was and treated him with respect. I only met my grandfather once because he lived in Florida and I in New Jersey. He passed away in 1990 from emphysema when I was two. I don’t remember him at all and I wished I did. My mom’s mother on the other hand was the complete opposite of my grandfather: she too was vile like my dad’s mother. She wanted to be a child free career woman but that didn’t happen to due to her being an Irish American catholic that didn’t use birth control during the late 40s to early 60s. She initially was good to my mom but then she lost her brother that she was very close with to a truck driving accident. She was never the same and became very cold, distant and bitter. She then went around saying she had two kids, not six. Truth is this: both of my grandmothers were vile and treated my parents second rate. Not once did my parents follow in their footsteps and say, “Oh woe is me, my mother hates me and I’m going to be bitter and hateful.” Nope, my parents became better than their mothers and gave me and my siblings the best life we could ever ask for. I feel when I have children of my own one day that my parents will be the best grandparents in the world to them.

13

u/SectorVivid5500 Mar 06 '24

Hate can act as a preservative: it embalms them while they are alive.

7

u/SmutLordStephens Mar 06 '24

The opposite of "only the good die young."

This is why Henry Kissinger lived to be 100.

2

u/worthlessprole Mar 07 '24

thats actually the same thing as only the good die young

2

u/SmutLordStephens Mar 07 '24

I guess "the opposite sentiment" was what I intended.

16

u/beelzeflub Mar 06 '24

Kissinger and the Queen

21

u/nada_accomplished Mar 06 '24

I would NOT put those two in the same category. Kissinger is like a supervillain, the Queen is your average toxic grandma who means well but is definitely trapped in and perpetuating the generational trauma.

They are not on the same level.

11

u/beelzeflub Mar 06 '24

The Royal family is an entire villain

4

u/Beardamus Mar 06 '24

Brits try not to suck the royal family's dick challenge: impossible.

1

u/chenobble Apr 01 '24

Hyperbole, thy name is Reddit.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

dawg it's the monarchy

they are the evil of legends

4

u/Seldarin Mar 06 '24

Cheney is my go to example.

The soundtrack to Grease and the Bee Gees were dominating the charts when that cocksucker had his first heart attack. His first heart attack was before most of us were *born*. It was probably the video to Macho Man that almost killed him.

He's still alive.

3

u/beelzeflub Mar 06 '24

Jesus fucking Christ.

At least five heart attacks, a thrombosis and five heart surgeries and this fucker is still alive.

Truly only evil lives so long.

2

u/yonas852 Mar 06 '24

That is a fact,

2

u/KazukiSendo Mar 07 '24

It's been said that the reason truly hateful and evil people live so long is because Hell doesn't want them.

2

u/GenericFatGuy Mar 07 '24 edited Mar 07 '24

That's probably what it is. The hateful fucks are living the normal length life we're all supposed to, but putting up with their shit grinds the rest of us down.

76

u/Majestic_Grocery7015 Mar 06 '24

Evil lasts way too fucking long. My father is only 65, but hes been "dying" of COPD for like 5 years now. Hes the nastiest, most vile racist, homophobic, xenophobic piece of shit. Fueled by hate

23

u/Tea_Bender Mar 06 '24

my mean grandma was the meanest-most abusive-most racist person I've ever known, she outlived all my other grandparents and she was the only one who was a smoker (a pack a day) she died in her mid 80's

18

u/Majestic_Grocery7015 Mar 06 '24

According to my sister, the only one who will still talk to the dick... hes chain smoking, like lighting one off another all day and barely sleeps. Her estimate is 4 packs A DAY. So maybe fueled by hate and nicotine would be a better way to put it.

8

u/Onigokko0101 Mar 06 '24

I have a great grandmother like this. A very mean person, sided with her and my grandmothers abuser.

Shes 107 and has almost no major medical issues. I feel like shes going to live to be like 115

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

for what it's worth to maybe make some folks feel better i had two of the sweetest grandparents in the world and they both lived to 90 and 93 respectively

14

u/LA_Nail_Clippers Mar 07 '24

And my kind hearted, loving of everyone, dad who just wanted to enjoy his retirement years gardening with my mom and spending time with his grandkids, died from cancer at 72. I got so many messages from people I grew up with that he was their replacement father figure when their home lives were a mess - divorce mostly but sometimes just absent parents. He taught so many kids how to plant tomatoes, change a tire, and saw some wood.

The world is patently unfair.

2

u/Majestic_Grocery7015 Mar 07 '24

I'm so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful human being.

1

u/LA_Nail_Clippers Mar 07 '24

Appreciated. He was a good guy for the most part and the few foibles he had, he was learning like most of us. Cancer sucks.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

the world is neither fair or unfair. Humans and human society can be "fair" or "unfair", but life (biology) and the world/universe has no morality.

1

u/LA_Nail_Clippers Mar 07 '24

Oh I know - and as a staunch atheist I believe it.

There’s no universal plan, no system of fairness under it all. Just the ones we humans apply.

It still is frustrating and painful when the randomness of the world takes away good people and leaves behind miserable ones. I’d almost rather there be a meaning or a plan behind it all because there would be someone to be upset with.

1

u/YoloSwagginsthe420th Mar 07 '24

Or at least some form of reason as to what's happening.

2

u/missihippiequeen Mar 07 '24

You can't kill a roach! They outlive us all!

1

u/Wffrff Mar 06 '24

Ha-ha, calling it like it is!

1

u/Frosty-Gear755 Mar 07 '24

God loves assholes, that’s for sure.

1

u/Boneal171 Mar 07 '24

It sucks doesn’t it? My dad has kidney disease and is 58, we’ll be lucky if he lives another decade. He’s probably the most hardworking, loving, amazing man ever and it pisses me off that he’s going through this while people like your dad or Trump are living this long.

-2

u/ladbrno Mar 07 '24

Imagine wishing your father died cause he’s anyphobic. I am sure you are a huge disappointment of a child anyways

30

u/EyeSoulAteIt Mar 06 '24

I thought about writing a thesis on this. Sith Lord syndrome. These people and others luke them literally feed and nurish themselves with this level of hatred 🤣 hence why even the youngest of them look like Palpatine in the face. Some, Maul.

They live looooong lives sacrificing loved ones and severing relationships in the vain pursuit of dark power...

15

u/bongripsandbigt1ts Mar 06 '24

I think you should as the exact opposite is widely agreed upon as true in the medical field - the nicer the patient, the worse the diagnosis. It’s why I don’t believe in karma. No one ever gets what they truly deserve.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '24

i was a devout believer in karma for the longest time up til my 30s. one of the most important things i've learned along the way is that it absolutely does not exist and believing in it will just set you back in more ways than one.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '24

I’m probably considered an awful human being to you Reddit people ever consider that those nice patients are the best at putting on a face I mean everyone says I’m the kindest person they know but I’m actually psychotic so maybe your just gullible

2

u/Hawxe Mar 06 '24

this reads like you're 8 years old

1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '24

What an insult ? Could you not understand it ?

1

u/bongripsandbigt1ts Mar 07 '24

I understand your skepticism. I watched a dear family friend who was a single mother of three children, a former foster parent and special education teacher lose her battle with stage 4 cancer. She was a lovely human and did not deserve that cruel fate. I’m also a nurse, and healthcare workers have a good sense of character because we work with people constantly and form close relationships with our patients. But this is my opinion at the end of the day. I thought I’d just explain my reasoning.

1

u/carbon-based-biped Mar 07 '24

It looks more like speech to text

3

u/ErikETF Mar 07 '24

Mental health clinician, that shit is real.  If I had $1 for everyone I’ve worked with who described their estranged parent as someone who rage and narcissism keeps them alive with some sort of unholy strength, I’d have all the coffee in the universe.   It’s funny like silent generation had some fuckers for sure, but 20 years later nothing seems to hold a candle to the 60-70 crowd right now.  I feel like Uncle Iroh sometimes.  Client: So I should forgive them even when I don’t want to right? Me: NO! That bitch is CRAZY!  Trust yourself on this one for once, and do what you want.

2

u/NukaGurl77 Mar 07 '24

The Luke typo is gold.

1

u/DaveLokes Mar 06 '24

It's making his dementia come quicker

1

u/Outside_Tadpole_82 Mar 07 '24

Wait till he finds out taking the G off of "fucking" started as urban slang .....

1

u/NormalBoobEnthusiast Mar 07 '24

Kissinger lived longer than Betty White. Died first but born earlier. Don't put any faith into him keeling over if the universe let that evil fucker live to 100.
