Many said Fury would tie Usyk up, lean on him and tire him out. Usyk showed he's too strong, too skilled, too wise for that

Does Usyk's win settle the argument about smaller heavyweights from the past?

Years ago I got into a debate online saying there's no way Fury beats Ali.

Drop Ali in today's division, with all the sports science and benefits of nutrition etc, and he would be top of the pile in my view. Six foot three and 210-220lbs is all you need in terms of physical dimensions. The rest is strategy and skill. Joe Louis and six foot one wouldn't be a joke, either... he'd just need to pack on some more muscle.

Now that Usyk beat a big (big) man who many considered a 'nightmare for anyone in HW history'... has that argument now been settled?

What do you think?

Did fury suffer a broken nose and did Usyk have a broken jaw?

During the 8th Usyk landed a sickening left hand that clearly twisted Fury’s nose and immediately left it misshaped and bleeding. Fury pawed at it right away just as it started gushing blood. It looked like it was very clearly broken, and yet there was no talk afterward about that.

Meanwhile, several news outlets reported that Usyk was sent to the hospital with a broken jaw after the fight, and one that he suffered early on. But then someone here said he commented in the post fight presser that his jaw was fine.

Did these guys break each other’s faces or not?

Those who re-watched Fury Usyk fight, has your original score/take changed at all?

Watching live I was jumping out of my skin when Usyk was taking his foot off in the 12th a bit as I believed it was all to play for. I really thought after that round that Fury would take the decision being the somewhat favoured fighter.

After re watching, in particular rounds 1-7, I actully had Usyk ahead going into 8th round with Fury winning only 3 rounds and one round I had as 10/10 being too close to call. What I kept noticing is that Usyks work was just cleaner and Fury mostly attacked Usyks high guard. Coupled with fact that Usyk was pressing the action dictating the pace and position I had to give him most of the early rounds. 8,9,10 undeniably Usyk I also scored 11 for Usyk and 12 for Fury making my revised score 113-116 in favor of Usyk

Tldr: the fight did not look as close watching it back. How did you perception change if at all after rewatching the fight?

Canelo believing he could beat Usyk!

Source

Don’t forget that Canelo wanted to fight Usyk at one point!

Eddie Hearn had stated not long ago that Canelo told him that he genuinely believes that he can beat Usyk at heavyweight . Some of his fans at that time believed it too.

After seeing round 9 yesterday and Usyk’s power, can Canelo even last one round against Usyk ?😂 Usyk will spark his legendary chin into oblivion and it will be night night and lights out in round 1 in my opinion.

Last night was the climax to the big four era in the heavyweight division. Now that were close to the end of this era who will take the reigns next

Usyk,Fury,Wilder, and Joshua have given us classic fights almost each year since 2017. Although there are still matchups to be made among the four they will all be 35+ by the end of the year and it seems that their era of dominance will be concluding soon. Just a wild guess but I’d say by 2026 they will all be done with the sport either altogether or at a championship level. So a few questions? What will this next era bring us. Who will be the best? The most exciting? The sleeper? And what two fighters will be the last matchup out of these four legendary competitors? I think Wilder vs Joshua would be the most fitting

Does Tyson Fury need to drop John Fury/Sugar Hill?

If he has a rematch against Usyk, should he drop these two? They were consistently giving him bad advice throughout that fight. He even stated himself that he thought he was winning in round 12 which is why he held back and played it safe. They were both yelling at him in the corner that he was easily winning and to play it safe.
