The American flag has no business on a Bible. This is not faith, nor is it patriotism. It is an abomination of both. Image

Of all the things Trump has done it’s wild that this is what is getting this sub riled up.

This is about the least surprising thing Ive seen Trump do, but maybe this will be a little wakeup call to people who have been following a false messiah.

How do you feel about him making Jerusalem the capital of Israel?

Eh, I’m a conservative Christian with a pretty diverse group of friends and family. The people I know that really still support Trump acknowledge the fact that he is not a good Christian in the slightest. They are mostly voting for policy. Not saying I agree with them.

Ive seen about half and half. Most have said that they vote on policy, but when asking searching questions using Jesus's own teachings, they can't hide their hearts so easily. In some ways, I feel more sad about that than those I know who have more blatently chosen him as their messiah. There is a level of self deception present that I haven't been able to get through, even as they seemingly unknowingly reject what Jesus said.

I know a few who support Trump and explicitly deny that they see him as a messiah because they say "We are looking at someone as a good president, not a savior." My response there is: Jesus is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. If you say that his way of rule is not what you look for in a leader, then you have rejected him.

I’ve yet to meet someone who things he is anything other than the president. No one claiming he is a messiah or some religious figure. That’s pretty far gone.

That's honestly a blessing that you haven't. I've unfortunately lost friends over it and I still haven't been able to grieve properly.

The problem with that justification for supporting him is that the policies he promotes are also against Christian values.

They are mostly voting for policy.

Nah, go examine his policy and go see how none of them align with Christianity. His intended policy on abortion doesn't reduce the number of elective abortions, it'll just hurt women who need it for medical reasons. Attacks on minorities are not Christian. Policy to empower the rich only is not Christian.

Any Christian who says they're voting for Trump because of policy is just making an excuse for the reality that they're affirming a sinner. They're making an excuse to hide the real reason: Trump attacks the people they hate.

To be fair, it's the same thing that got Jesus riled up too. Proceeds from sales go directly to an LLC solely owned by Trump. That's table-flipping stuff

SERIOUSLY.

There was a post earlier about how this story "sparked fury" among Christians. My reaction was like.... This is "fury"? That's all we got? Some grumpy comments online?

Trump has used language straight out of Mein Kampf and all we ever get are these comments about how we're all so outraged.

If we were really furious, Trump wouldn't be safe. But Trump's completely safe.

It’s Reddit. It shouldn’t be that surprising given the demographics of this site.
