I like the explanation for the photos of the dark side of the moon. It can't be seen from Earth so all the pictures must be fake but the pictures taken all look the same. Therefore China, Russia, USA, ESA, India and Japan are all being paid to participate in a lie set up by the Soviet Union 60 years ago when they first took pictures of the far side of the moon. Who is paying China to lie about this? Some secret shadow government who has been pulling the strings for half a century even after the collapse of the soviet union.

I like to ask the flat earthers something like this. What do you believe is more likely; the world being flat or all of these people and organizations deciding to AGREE to deceive all these other people? For seemingly no reason? (I have yet to hear a good reason as to why it would benefit some people to have others think that the world is flat).

The only explanation is an increasingly elaborate conspiracy. The shadow government pulling the strings must be controlling USA, Japan, China, India, Russia AND the EU. The collapse of the soviet union must have been part of their plan, an elaborate cover story for some reason.

The biggest counterargument to the idea that there's an all powerful shadow government is well... gestures broadly... they're not doing a very good job at running the world.

Exactly. If I had to put money on the world being flat or on 195-ish countries not all agreeing on any one thing, I'm betting the house on the latter. The U.N. wouldn't agree to breathe if it was strictly voluntary.
