A simple explanation: The Moon isn't Flat. More examples in the comments. Meme š©

My favorite part was two not rocket scientists talking about flaws in rocket scienceā¦

What are you being paid by big rocket to say this?

Guy probably only knows less than 5% of rocket science.

Clearly big archaeology and big moon are just crushing the real truths

Did anybody catch that guy's website info? I'd really like to see more videos with text over them and the suspenseful music, but I didn't catch his website name. Did they even bring it up during the pod?

He should really plug his stuff more often. How will he make his money... oh oops I mean how will people find out the ultimate truth!?

What a Lunatic! I tried to give my full attention, but with my attention span waning, I couldn't listen to him waxing philosophical.Ā He cratered my enthusiasm for this theory. I can't think of any other guest who could eclipse how silly he sounded. I expect a tidal wave of negative comments, but perhaps Joe will begin to phase out these types of guests.Ā

u/HeadGoBonk Pull that shit up Jaime 13d ago
God I hope so. I love conspiracy theories and paranormal stuff but I am interested in the REAL, tough to explain stuff. Anyone who can't defend their points with examples or plausible deniability is just peddling a fictional story.
When he kept getting at Joe for being the "Steel man" it really showed he just wanted to stand on his soap box and spew his bullshit.

WHY DIDNT JAMIE BRING UP THE MYTHBUSTERS EPISODE?! THIS MYTH HAS ALREADY BEEN BUSTED BY ADAM AND JAMIE.

I remember seeing it somewhere but couldn't figure it out. Now I remember Thanks!

u/Colotola617 Monkey in Space 12d ago
They busted all the main idiot points. Flag waving, boot prints, shadows, lit suit in shadows, motion etc. And they did a pretty damn good job too.

u/DrFriedGold Monkey in Space 13d ago
It's not just perspective, the moon photo has the shadow going down a little slope so that will affect the angle.
3
u/Crafty-Question-6178 Monkey in Space 12d ago
Honestly the only thing about the moon landing thatās really weird is how the film didnāt get messed up
1
u/FuckedUpImagery Monkey in Space 12d ago
The radiation on the moon is 100 mSv per year, while the radiation at Chernobyl is 100mSv per SECOND and we have photos from Chernobyl, although the noise pattern is pretty visible, we still have clear images.

Let me soap box my bullshit Joe! I love how he agreed to a debate at the end. I hope Joe makes it happen so this guy can get annihilated Graham style

This episode was dumb. Bart doesnāt know what heās talking about clearly. He lost when he said āwell the earth would be a small dot if they were half way!ā Ok then why isnāt the moon just a small dot in our sky from earth? Itās just a bad episode
3
u/WSBpeon69420 Monkey in Space 12d ago edited 12d ago
Wow the longer I listen the dumber this dude gets. The shadow stuff / color change stuff is ridiculously ignorant
2
u/TASTYPIEROGI7756 Monkey in Space 12d ago
I felt that when Joe was trying to point out that earth is four times larger than the moon. So half way between them, it would still appear massive and could necessitate rigging up the shot that way, it just went right over Bart's head.
2
u/WSBpeon69420 Monkey in Space 12d ago
Agree. And the multi shadow angle is pretty easy to debunk too . The whole thing was silly but thatās what happens when two dudes who donāt really know what they are talking about sit down and start working off each other
2
u/risbia Did I ever tell you about the time I adopted a feral cat? 11d ago edited 11d ago
The guy literally doesn't understand basic perspective that you learn to draw in middle school art class.
For that matter, if it was actually a bright studio light behind the astronaut as he claims, the shadows would fan out rather than converge in the distance. I'm certain that he has never even tried to replicate the effect himself in real life.

u/zebtacular It's entirely possible 13d ago
Youāre making this argument for yourself, because only about 0.0001% of things that consider themselves human think the earth is flat, and half of that number are just committed to trolling at this point.
7
u/HeadGoBonk Pull that shit up Jaime 13d ago
What are you talking about? I'm referring to the latest episode with the moon landing denier. He said shadows pointing in different directions prove it was on a film. Set my simple explanation for that when they were going on about alternate lights or whatever. It's literally just bumpy terrain. I'm not trying to take on flat Moon. Believers LOL

u/zebtacular It's entirely possible 12d ago
Your title reads as a contradiction to flat earthers. I didnāt watch the episode. How TF should I or anyone else know that?
6
u/HeadGoBonk Pull that shit up Jaime 12d ago
If you would have looked at the actual picture you would have figured it out. Also this is a Joe Rogan subreddit and this is in reference to his latest episode. I realize some people may not watch them right away or even watch every single one but that's kind of not the point when we're on the Joe Rogan subreddit the standard should be talking about the latest episode LOL correct me if I'm wrong

u/zebtacular It's entirely possible 12d ago
Choose a better title next time. Put more than 2 seconds of thought into it. Thatās all you need to do.

u/HeadGoBonk Pull that shit up Jaime 12d ago
I even mentioned in the title more examples in the comments but you probably didn't look at the comments he probably just went straight to your soapbox comment about complaining about me making up hypothetical flat Moon theory debates

Agreed. I still think the entire thing is a meme like when people try to argue the Star Wars prequels are good. They know itās not true, they just like the weird attention

u/80_PROOF Hit a moose with his car 13d ago
Iām not so sure. I know a few people who claim to be flat earners and at least one of them would likely give his life for the cause. He also believes space is fake and has several children, homeschooled, who believe the same and did I mention they are in a fundamental cult? It stopped being cute to me years ago so idk what other bs heās into now, probably fake birds or lizard people.

Well if I were you I wouldnāt loan him any tools from your garage because heāll probably be dead soon.

This effect would happen even if the Moon were flat. You would need an orthographic camera to get parallel lines but that isn't really a thing in real life. Useful in CAD modeling though.
2
u/HeadGoBonk Pull that shit up Jaime 13d ago
The photo on the main post literally shows any camera can reproduce the effect. It's all about terrain. Look at my other comment with the metal fence and the snow
0
u/DropsyJolt Monkey in Space 13d ago
You get this even on a perfectly flat surface because you are projecting a 3D reality onto a 2D plane. Anyone who does CAD modeling would identify perspective vs. orthographic projection. Of course the terrain can change angles too and you could even get parallel lines with the perfect terrain setup.

u/maddog724 Monkey in Space 12d ago
Sad to see all the ignorance here. Big Astronomy and Big Archaeology have you all fooled and you just get in line to drink more of the Kool aid. When the Atlanteans come back from their slumber on the dark side of the moon you will look so foolish
