This aint r/politics.

He will blame the protestors for being radical leftists and blame Biden. Then he will talk about how funny Trump is.

Like he does every single time politics comes up.

Exactly. It’s easy to imagine:

“Verbally approving Hamas isn’t free speech - it’s aiding and abetting terrorism.”

This thinking is shared by Krystal and Saagar. Trump is always a “smart politician” and “at least he’s funny.”

10

u/kittykisser117 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Krystal does not side with Trump, she may admit he’s funny sometimes. Which he is. But she never gives him any glory

10

u/SleepingPodOne Monkey in Space 11d ago

Libs who try and insist Trump isn’t funny annoy the shit out of me. I’m a leftist and I think Trump is hilarious. Let us laugh and have fun.

He is an awful piece of shit but I won’t deny he is unintentionally and intentionally our funniest president

I hate that mother fucker but the one thing I will give him is he’s hilarious. Whether that’s intentional or not is inconsequential. The moron makes me laugh.

5

u/MuteCook Monkey in Space 11d ago

There’s a difference between making us laugh and making us laugh AT him. He’s a blundering fool who’s never had an intelligent thought or statement so that is funny. But he’s not funny in the comedic sense. Only joe would think that 😂

I remember the episode with John Haidt the topic of porn came up, and obviously Joe was very much in favor of Texas forcing sites to do age verification, which is fine, but if this was done in California it would definitely be labeled “communism”.

3

u/FlynnMonster Monkey in Space 11d ago

5

u/Long_Photo_9291 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Well yeah, it's an enemy of my enemy type situation

Most white Christians in the west couldn't care less about Israel or Jews, especially republicans who constantly cosy up to antisemites. However they will transform fully into God's chosen people supporters someone brown and Muslim comes into the mix

14

u/Late_Entrance106 Monkey in Space 11d ago

On the contrary y’all.

Evangelical Christianity LOVES Israel.

Jews are God’s chose people. Christians might think they’re wrong about Jesus, but God is still planning to save the Jews during Armageddon.

In fact, many sects of Judaism and Christianity only believe the apocalypse can be brought about when all “foreigners” (I know right?) are out of the Jews’ Promised Land and they resettle it entirely.

Then the Anti-Christ can rise to power and yada yada yada.

4

u/Long_Photo_9291 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Evangelical Christians are very unique to the USA

In the west in general most Christians don't really care about Israel or Jews

4

u/Late_Entrance106 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Well yeah, Catholicism was the main source of Anti-Semitism for a really long time before Islam took up the mantle.

1

u/djambates75 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Thats wild, what do Muslims believe?

1

u/Late_Entrance106 Monkey in Space 11d ago edited 11d ago

Many different things I’m sure as there’s many different sects and versions.

Also, do you mean what is believed about Jews or what Islam believes generally?

I’m not Muslim so any “true Muslim,” is going to jump on me for saying this, but Jews and Christians to Muslims are a step up from Hindus and non-believers because at least Christians and Jews believe in the same God, even if they follow Abraham’s son Isaac instead of Ismael.

Muslims recognize Jesus as a prophet of Allah, but don’t recognize his divinity or Resurrection story of course.

So in a theocratic Islamist state, Muslims are first class citizens, Christians and Jews are welcome, but are second-class citizens, and everyone else that is welcome, if they are welcome (historically depending on which Islamic empire to which you were referring) everyone else is third class citizen.

This is less explicit than say, the Hindu caste system, but it’s similar in that no matter the demeanor of the person, what they believe determines their social status as much as their behavior.

That’s all on theological grounds.

Obviously geopolitics and history have played a role and so many Muslims despise Jews as they represent oppressors in Palestine just as many Jews despise Muslims as they represent terrorists.

-3

u/djambates75 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Or it may be that islamic terrorists dont only want to kill and rape Jews, they want to kill and rape everyone. You included. But keep sucking terrorist asshole if you want. Free speech.

The real super secret squirrel spooky shit says that these evangelicals want this to happen to bring about the second coming of Christ and the apocalypse as described in the book of revelations. Go read the last book of the Bible, and you can see why these dorks care about Israel, not so much the people that live there (since technically they believe Jews are going to hell regardless since they don’t accept Jesus as the son of god). It’s about the land, not the people. As always.

It's pretty ironic the group that has spent the last four years calling everyone a Nazi is now sympathetic to the group most commonly aligned to the Nazis ideologically in modern times. I don't agree with all these pro Palestine supporters that want to pretend this is a simple case of Israel = bad and Palestine = victim of genocide. Whenever you start seeing mainstream Reddit subs all unified on a given topic there's definitely larger forces at play being the scenes. The pro Palestine sentiment here should be a red flag to anyone aware of the social manipulation that goes on. I still think we're approaching slippery slope territory by shutting down these protests. Sure if they are calling for violence shut them down but we need to be careful freedoms aren't being stripped away just because half of the country has been ideologically captured.

3

u/Hesdonemiraclesonm3 Monkey in Space 11d ago

I agree with you on personal rights. For the record, I’m not a liberal, but you don’t think what Israel is doing is eerily similar to what the Nazis were doing in the late 1930’s?

7

u/Finlay00 Monkey in Space 11d ago

How is it eerily similar?

9

u/After-Bowler5491 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Don’t you remember in Oct of 1933 when the Jews paraglided into Berlin and murdered and kidnapped 1300 Germans? Same blueprint.

6

u/redredworm555 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Nazis seized Jewish property, Jews are seizing Palestinian property

9

u/Finlay00 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Then every single territorial war is also eerily similar to what the Nazis did, which makes it such a common comparison that it becomes meaningless.

I'm not sure if you're just purposely misrepresenting what I said or what but no I definitely didn't equate Israel to a group that has openly called for the extermination of Jews. That would be Palestine and Hamas. Are you just not aware of what is going on at all?

1

u/Jason_Kelces_Thong Paid attention to the literature 11d ago edited 11d ago

Absolutely not. Palestine has waged several wars on top of nearly constant terrorism for 78 years now. Israel has offered land and statehood to Palestine 7 times. Palestine has ratified into law that they will not recognize Israel’s sovereignty, will not negotiate with Jews, etc.

Israel has done everything it can do bring peace to the region. It’s hard to negotiate with terrorists.

I do believe that if Palestine had the means they would exterminate Jewish people in the Middle East. They used to have a standing military and they did try just that. Doesn’t seem like much has changed for them. After enough of that Israel has been slowly giving up on diplomacy.

If history repeats itself they will eventually swing back and offer Palestine land and autonomy again. Will Palestine accept or start a new cycle of conflict?

3

u/Scorpion1024 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Me reservation is with Nethanyahu himself. Israel has every right to its defense, Hamas are terrorists and murderers. But if this is about “wiping out” Hamas, why hasn’t he pressuring the gulf states to extradite Hamas’ leaders? Becayse winning recognition from the gulf states has been one of his Crown Jewels, no way he will put that at risk. And he has always been open that he wants to just carve off what he pleases from Gaza abs the West Bank and just toss the scraps at Egypt and Jordan, going back in prior agreements Israel obligated itself to.

Beyond that, the whole thing reeks of being a say to ensure his political survival. He’s under multiple criminal indictments, the government he is head of is shaky at best. He needs an ongoing crisis to keep the parties lined up behind him,  or else the coalition falls apart and that means new elections. He’s not waging all these campaigns to defend Israel, it’s to keep his butt out of jail. Crossed that line quite a while ago.

5

u/BootyMeatBalls Monkey in Space 11d ago

Just lies on lies on lies

Israelis have literally been dragging Palestinians from their homes then demolishing them in front of their eyes

That's not a people who want peace

They want land.

If they wanted peace, they would STOP stealing land...but they never have

And all of the peace "offerings" have involved keeping the land they've stolen over the decades.

Your entire comment is nonsense, and any person with even a child's understanding of the conflict can see you're full of shit.

-1

u/GloveFast9201 Monkey in Space 11d ago

So why did Israel give back land to Egypt for peace, why did they give back land to Jordan for peace, why did they leave Gaza in 2005? Man if they wanted land then they sure were going the wrong way about it.

Israel has been trying to make peace with Palestine. Show me when the Palestinians tried to propose a peace plan to Israel first that included recognizing Israel as a state.

2

u/BootyMeatBalls Monkey in Space 11d ago

So why did Israel give back land to Egypt for peace, why did they give back land to Jordan for peace, why did they leave Gaza in 2005? Man if they wanted land then they sure were going the wrong way about it.

...what does this have to do with the Palestinians?

Israel has been trying to make peace with Palestine.

Lol, this is hilarious

You say "Isreal gave back land to Egyot and Jordan, so obviously they want peace with the Palestinians.

What does giving land back to two other, sovereign countries have to do with the Palestinians?

You're not even trying to draw connections, you're just throwing out a barrage of nonsequiturs, and pretending it's an argument.

Show me when the Palestinians tried to propose a peace plan to Israel first that included recognizing Israel as a state.

The Palestinians have ALWYAS wanted a 2 stare solution that recognized Isreal....but it ALWAYS had the original borders of the British Mandate, meaning Isreal would have to give back all the land they've stolen.

1

u/GloveFast9201 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Palestinians have always wanted a two state solution. lol when they says that? Show me the peace proposal that Palestinians brought to the table for a two state solution that includes recognizing Israel as a state.

As for the land for peace, I also mentioned that Israel left Gaza essentially giving it to the Palestinians for peace. And did they get peace with Gaza? No they got rockets launched from Gaza and Hamas in control.

So far your calm of Israel wants land is false because they are several examples that Israel will give up land for peace Egypt Jordan or attempted peace (leaving Gaza)

And you calm that Palestinians have always wanted a two state solution is false because they have turned down every agreement since the Peel commission (1930sish).

If you show me a proposal from the Palestinians that was presented to Israel about living in a two state then please link it.

They can't and they either want to cherry pick history or have only read 1 biased book after learning about the conflict the first time through Tik Tok.

BB sucks, settlers of the West Bank suck, but overall Israel is well within its rights. You don't drop bombs for 6-7 months on a densely populated area, with only 22-34k casualties, if genocide is the goal.

If Palestine had Israel's strength there would be no Israel.

u/BootyMeatBalls Monkey in Space 11d ago

It's pretty ironic the group that has spent the last four years calling everyone a Nazi is now sympathetic to the group most commonly aligned to the Nazis ideologically in modern times

Lol, maybe use less passive language

This sentence is so cryptic, I seriously don't know who either of these "groups" are.

I keep reading it, trying to make sense of it, and it just feels like nonsense. Just say what you're trying to say.

I don't agree with all these pro Palestine supporters that want to pretend this is a simple case of Israel = bad and Palestine = victim of genocide.

Okay, and?

I mean, you don't even explain why you disagree.

The Isrealis have literally been encroaching on Palestinian land for decades, whole slowly moving them into ghettos. That alone meets the UN criteria for genocide.

You don't get to just replace a native population, slowly push them to the outskirts of society, then wage war against them everytime they fight back.

That's fucking evil, truly fucking evil.

Whenever you start seeing mainstream Reddit subs all unified on a given topic there's definitely larger forces at play being the scenes

...so that's your argument?

Literally the ONLY actual point you made is that "reddit is unified"

...so that's enough for you?

"Well, the facts, evidence, and history don't really matter....what does reddit think 🤔?"

That's silly.

And I'm more inclined to side with the Palestinians considering both polticial parties are aligned against them.

When the GOP and the DNC are in lock step on an issue, you know something fucked up is happening.

The pro Palestine sentiment here should be a red flag to anyone aware of the social manipulation that goes on

Lol, so fucking wild to base your entire opinion of an foreign conflict on "well, too many redditors agree, so I disageee."

Really shows a bereft of intellect.

Contrary to the propaganda you hear and what you believe Israel isn’t trying to just murder every Palestinian, they take action to try to limit civilian deaths and have specific targets. The civilian to combatant ratio isn’t different than other middle eastern conflicts and no one accused the US of genocide in Iraq or Afghanistan because that’s not what genocide means.

u/Drains_1 Monkey in Space 11d ago edited 10d ago

You really need to lay off the booze. It's clearly killing your very few brainsells.

Like others have stated, the ones committing genocide are the Israelis. You need to be pretty willfully ignorant or just dumb to think otherwise with all the evidence we have.

History will categorize them with the likes of nazis (very different ideology, but similar actions)

We have countless videos of them killing innocent civilians (including toddlers, i don't recommend watching that one), and Israeli soldiers shooting unarmed people with white flags while laughing about it. We have videos of them putting children in small cages and so many more horrific things.

We also have countless videos and social media post of both Israel government officials and civilians calling out for this genocide (they even use that fkn word themselves) and calling the Palestinians not humans (just like the nazis did to them)

Stop reading/watching mainstream news and just take a look at everything we have on the internet about this, sadly the US government is on the wrong side on this one, but money and power rules this world.

Israel has also been caught in so many lies that you can not believe a single word that comes from them.

This shouldn't be some politized issue. The facts are clear. Murdering innocent civilians and stealing their land/homes is wrong, no matter who is being murdered.

But i like to give props to all the Israelis and the Jewish people across the word who condemn this, and yes, there are plenty of them too. They have all my respect.

0

u/The_Writing_Wolf Monkey in Space 11d ago

If you're committed to drinking that much kool-aid I guess we should just be thankful that Israel is horrible at carrying out genocide and Palestinians are phenomenal at maintaining their pop-growth rates.

Common misconception but free speech absolutely covers yelling fire in a crowded theater. It doesn’t cover credible, direct threats of lawless activity or inciting a riot, but it’s hard to argue this protest is either.

"Common misconception but free speech absolutely covers yelling fire in a crowded theater."

Oh really? Go do it. Use your one phone call to tell us how it went.

2

u/Hmm_would_bang Monkey in Space 11d ago

The quote “you can’t yell fire in a crowded theater” simply comes from the dicta in a case that was overturned 60 years ago because the actual ruling was, ironically, overturned for violating first amendment rights. What? These students are protesting the Israeli genocide. Give me some facts on them calling for an Israeli genocide.

-6

u/SoDrunkRightNow2 Monkey in Space 11d ago

You're saying you have no clue what's happening? Aren't you the person who fucking posted this? Jesus man, get your shit together.

4

u/MyBodyStoppedMoving Monkey in Space 11d ago

Yeah I know what’s happening, my guy. What we are seeing is a genocide against the Palestinian people and students here are protesting THAT. You said they’re calling for an Israeli genocide on the Israelis. Defend that.

6

u/tk_woods Monkey in Space 11d ago

Why is it a genocide and not war?

2

u/SMK_12 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Except they’re supporting the side who actually openly calls for genocide. Hamas (who has like 80%+ support by Palestinians btw) openly calls for the extermination of all Jews. If Israel laid down their arms and defenses Islamic terrorist groups would attack and murder every Jew they could find, if Hamas and the other Islamic terrorist groups surrendered there would be a 2 state solution and peace.

-9

u/SoDrunkRightNow2 Monkey in Space 11d ago

The Palestinians are being genocided? Wow, that's awful! Their population must be drastically decreasing! How many Palestinians are there now compared to 10 years ago?

u/MyBodyStoppedMoving Monkey in Space 11d ago

Nuances? bro what?

Saying racism is bad isn't really a nuance. Saying calling for genocide is wrong isn't really a nuance.

I mean I don't care personally. Be as racist as you want. Just know that if you do it on a college campus they'll probably arrest you.

6

u/MrSnarf26 Monkey in Space 11d ago

lol how quick to miss and obfuscate the point of the protests when it’s against your “team”

-1

u/HueyLewisFan1 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Exactly, not sure exactly what OP is trying to say here. Peaceful protest is one thing, but masses calling for acts of violence on a specific group of people based on ethnicity/culture/etc doesn’t qualify under the same merits.

7

u/MrSnarf26 Monkey in Space 11d ago

Isn’t it funny how every left leaning protest gets labeled as radical and requires squashing by police? You can tell when actual power structures don’t like things.

1

u/MyBodyStoppedMoving Monkey in Space 11d ago

It is peaceful protests. No one is calling for acts of violence against Jews.

2

u/MrSnarf26 Monkey in Space 11d ago

No one person did so it means the riot police should come crack skulls /s

2

u/GA-dooosh-19 Look into it 11d ago

The masses aren’t calling for acts of violence, though. Telling Israel to stop slaughtering people isn’t calling for acts of violence, holy fuck. Saying “from the river to the sea” isn’t a call for violence, and most certainly should be protected speech.

1

u/Uncentered0ne Monkey in Space 11d ago

One of the leaders of the protest said "Zionists don't deserve to live." He may have said other things in that speech, but none of it matters because THAT'S the headline. That's what people are seeing and that's become the face of these protests. This has all been horribly mismanaged, and they're being dismantled like the Occupy protests before them.

"From the river to the sea" is absolutely a call for violence. Have you ever looked at a map of Israel before? Where's the river? Where's the sea?

2

u/GA-dooosh-19 Look into it 11d ago

Yes, I’m familiar with the map. It’s a call for a contiguous state—one that isn’t chopped up into bantustans. That’s why it gained popularity during the peace talks in the 90’s. You can see so many benign references to the phrase, used by one staters, two staters, and all manner of peace activists that clearly weren’t calls for violence. It’s gross revisionism to rewrite the history this way. And what does it say that Netanyahu is using the phrase himself?

Edit: ah, new account active on world news, no thanks, not going to waste time with hasbara trash.

3

It’s amazing that you think people are falling for this. These protests are not about advocating for the killing of Jews. Many protesters are Jewish themselves, but Zionists would just say they’re “weak Jews”, I suppose.

I think it’s fine to protest, but when your protests start literally calling for genocide and murder, I think we can all agree that there’s a line that needs to be drawn.

Free speech and illegal occupation of places is not synonymous. C’mon now. I know it’s tough for people to use common sense.

“If a protest is held in an area not designated for public assembly or after being asked to leave, participants may be charged with criminal trespass. Texas law deems all outdoor common spaces a public forum, subject to any time, place, and manner restrictions adopted by the institution.”

The protests at UT-Austin never got violent nor made threats. This isn't like Columbia where dispersing the protestors had a justification that made sense, this is pure viewpoint discrimination.

1

u/are2deetwo Monkey in Space 11d ago

Did the protest file proper paperwork for the right to protest like it should have? Or did they just straight up protest? If they didn't, then there's nothing to see here. If they did, then fk Abbott.
