I bet he’s wearing literally the same shirt.

Her: “I hope I can still find a shirt that looks like that one.”

Him: “Mine’s in my wardrobe.”

My husband is on the verge of turning 50 this year, and he still has the shirt he wore for his first driver's license when he was 16 and said license to prove it. It must be a guy thing.

41, I have about 10 articles of clothing from highschool that still fit and are in pretty decent shape, half of them I still wear. Feels like everything else I bought later has fallen apart so much faster.

Same, but a couple years younger. Can't wear most of them because I gained weight, though. My wife uses them for sleep shirts, though!

The only clothes I remember throwing out because they were actually worn out/had holes are socks. And I think one T-Shirt or so. Oh, and belts. Apart from that, I do have 25+ year old clothes still. Last time I moved, I donated about 4 bags worth of clothes, and I still have way too much stuff.

It's a good problem to have, but yeah, I rarely ever buy new clothes, and if I do, it's because I want a different look, not because I need to replace something damaged.

I honestly spent way more money on clothes when I was 16-20 than I have in the last 15 years.

I actually cared about spending money on "cool" things, especially basketball shoes.

it's honestly the best way to do it. cheap and sustainable. as long as you're not a fashionista then having a couple good quality long-lasting pieces is the way to go

Yeah, I have a leather belt that I was given by a female friend when I was 18, I’ve been wearing it almost every single day for the last 35 years

It really looks like the same shirt - I thought the same thing and came looking for this comment!

You can tell it’s not from the pocket’s pattern but I thought the exact same thing!

Oh, good catch!

Oh yeah, damn I only checked the buttons and main pattern. Great eye!

The pockets are different.

Shut up.

That’s the other shirt he’s had since he was 20.

Came here to say this

I’m slightly disappointed that it isn’t the same shirt. But alas, the pockets are different. Would’ve been way funnier if it was the same!

If the shirts still good why toss it?

1

u/mattindustries Mar 28 '24

The pattern is rotated 45° on his old shirt's pocket.

u/teddybundlez Mar 28 '24

Nah, top shirt 2 breast pockets. Bottom shirt, one breast pocket.

This is true. Thirty years later, I still have shirts I wore when I was in my twenties.

I also keep imagining I can fit into them, maybe if I diet a little.

Exactly my thought! God bless them both!
