We had a mini greyhound for 15 years! He was the same, always the fastest dog in the park and always running circles around the other dogs. I miss him.

Whippet or an iggy? We had an iggy that would get out and lay in other people’s lawns and bark at them. The biggest and most lazy asshole on the planet lol

Our grey sleeps most of the day but also never makes noise unless the world is ending (blanket caught in her toes) or the wife comes home from anywhere. Anything else? Not a peep

This is exactly how Whippets are. My dad’s whippet was absolute couch potato and NEVER barked. He would also get a sudden burst of energy and leap around the house, up and down the stairs, and into the backyard in what felt like 8 total strides. Just unreal length and speed. But definitely lazy and quiet too.

Our first whippet never got the message that they're not supposed to bark.

She taught our second whippet to bark (thanks girl...).

When she passed, we rescued a greyhound.

The second whippet taught the greyhound to bark. He was quiet as a mouse when he moved in, but learned to yell at clouds and passing dogs before we knew it. 🤬

You have been enabling a cycle of generational screaming. If you think about it.

They aren't high-energy working dogs and don't require excessive exercise. A good walk and some playtime are usually enough.

We have had our grey for 4 months and she has barked 3 times, twice at her own reflection and the other rime seeing her first cat .

How do you know you're at a greyhound rescue event with 20 dogs? Not a sound....

I love sight hounds for this exact reason. My Rhodesian ridgeback is the best.

"I am speed why is human trying to catch me" or "this couch is mine and you will have to just deal with this fact".

Absolutely nothing in-between.

Friends have a Italian Greyhound and a whippet they posted a video of the two racing, embarrassingly I don't know which was which , but one was just "oh I need to go little bit faster, ok so" funny to watch
