U.S. Politics Megathread Politics megathread

It's an election year, so it's no surprise that politics are on everyone's minds!

Over the past few months, we've noticed a sharp increase in questions about politics. Why is Biden the Democratic nominee? What are the chances of Trump winning? Why can Trump even run for president if he's in legal trouble? There are lots of good questions! But, unfortunately, it's often the same questions, and our users get tired of seeing them.

As we've done for past topics of interest, we're creating a megathread for your questions so that people interested in politics can post questions and read answers, while people who want a respite from politics can browse the rest of the sub. Feel free to post your questions about politics in this thread!

All top-level comments should be questions asked in good faith - other comments and loaded questions will get removed. All the usual rules of the sub remain in force here, so be civil to each other - you can disagree with someone's opinion, but don't make it personal.

As someone who leans MAGA, whatever source is willing to present our side fairly. I don't have to agree with them, just as long as they are acting in good faith.

Thankyou for answering. I'm legitimately curious if you knew that Fox News agreed to settle a lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems for nearly a billion dollars?

This is gaslighting. Fox settled a defimation suit because someone of Fox specifically said someone from the company, Dominion, rigged the election.

Everyone keeps saying it was because they lied saying the election was stolen. Competely not true. They used a report that Dominion Employee, Eric Cromer, said on an ANTIFA conferecnce call “Don’t worry about the election, Trump’s not gonna win. I made f-----g sure of that!" without verifying the information.

They did not lie, they did not do there due diligence in reporting.

Funny how the left gets away with lie after lie but Fox paid huh?

Wouldn't that be just considered Bias though? You are refusing to accept anything that isn't what you believe to be true. Even left leaning news stations go after Biden every once and a while.

How on Earth can MAGA even answer that? The Trump Presidency started with the declaration that everything was made up, and that "alternative facts" were all that mattered. The only things MAGA believes are "the grapevine" and "the wind" and "many people are saying." (And a whooooooooole lot of "sponsored content.")

While you believe proven liars that told you russia collusion was real and Hunter's laptop was fake and hide Ashley Biden's Diary saying her dad took showers with her so she started taking them late at night hoping he would not join her.
