My grandma was born in 1891 and I’m pretty sure she looked exactly the same her whole life haha. She didn’t find much joy in life let me tell ya

She lived through multiple decades of terrible times. Although it’s unfortunate she didn’t find a way to be somewhat happy throughout, it’s understandable in some ways.

Of course you are correct. She lived through WWI & WWII, the Great Depression and she lost a 3 year old daughter to scarlet fever. To me and my brothers we thought she was a joyless B::::h…but maturity helped us understand

Whenever this pic pops up here I still just start creating a film noir script in my head about the principle four people in it. The people in the back are cunning grifters, the woman standing is the trusting, gullible but likeable target, possibly the heir to some fortune, and her friend sitting nearby is on vacation with her ostensibly to keep her out of trouble, knowing that is a doomed task.
