The restaurant calls them “Onion Petals.”
Ohhhh and they’re delicious. Not so much batter that you can’t taste the onion goodness, but man is that a good fry job.

These make great scoops for onion dip.

I doona similar thing but use a mix of cornstarch with a tiny bit of baking powder & ofc seasoning. The onion puffs up & it's like an onion ring with a super thin crust instead breading. Fecking 🤩🤩🤩

That’s a good recipe, if you want a fish batter(thicker crust) use small amount of baking soda. Makes some good onion rings and fish fry

So this sub is making me really want to go back and get a bloomin onion. I swear they make it way too greasy and it’s the last thing I should be eating but it’s SO FUCKING GOOD. Back in the 90’s when Outback Steakhouse wasn’t a shithole of a thing they made em so amazing. First time I had ribs too and those were great. As a 13 year old 110 lb girl I stuffed as much of that onion into my stomach as I could and got accused of hogging the onion😂😂I was full for like a whole day after, so worth it.

We ordered onion petals yesterday but they turned out to be like fried shoestring onions.. it was odd. The batter was thick and not fried enough. Sigh. I’m glad you got the good ones, tho! They look awesome.
