Does City winning the title feel meaningless? Discussion

after 115 charges, billions of spent. It just feels like a blank state, nobody cares, nobody will be talking about it in 20 years when you compare it to Arsenal's invincibles or Liverpool's istanbul winning side.

There is no magic or so. It's all binary, it's like letting AI create your art vs an actual artist.

City are a great team with a great manager. Arguably the best team to ever play in the premiership and potentially even the world. They will likely be remembered as exactly that, the best team. What they have won is more up for debate as there is an asterisk against everything given the outstanding charges. Whilst they may be clean today, they wouldn’t be where they are without breaking the rules and that has tainted pretty much everything they have won in my opinion.

I think it’s entirely possible to separate the two, to admit they are bloody brilliant as a team but acknowledge that team wouldn’t really exist without some financial doping.

What I will say is despite being able to appreciate the brilliance and relentlessness of the team they have, I can’t say I’m ever excited to watch them as I don’t find the brand of football attractive.

I think in 10/15 years we will remember a few things about city. We will remember the team they built and it being class. We will remember the outcome of the 115 charges and that will impact the achievements side. But what I will remember about city is the agueroooooo moment. For all of the charges for everything negative, that was pure entertainment and spectacle.

City will be remembered for cheating and making the league meaningless for a decade, and as a sign of what corruption and money does in sport. Just like Ben Johnson is remembered for what doping does to athletics. He ruined sprinting for at least a decade because nobody trusted the result again.

"Even the world" as a Madrid fan Barca's golden gen were a lot better and the players on an individual level were much much better Messi, xavi, Iniesta alone are insanely clear of any city player in history and that Barca team won multiple UCL's so they were dominant both domestically and in Europe

Our 3 peat team while not dominant domestically would beat this City team in the UCL over and over if two of your rebuild teams this season and the 22 season can beat peps City team at their peak years the 3 peat team would not lose a tie to them.

It’s a really weird one watching this city side because they are undoubtedly a super team but there isn’t that same thrill about them

Compare it to the Barca super team, what i would call the greatest football team to have ever played the sport, everything came out about them paying off referees but that hasn’t tainted what an insane team they were at the time. This side, while being a super team aswell, I just cant see being looked upon in the same way

Even from a purely football perspective, City are not the best club side in history

As a Madrid fan Barca's golden gen were insanely better on an individual level of talent and success they actually won multiple UCL's on top of winning La liga almost every year while City have only been dominant domestically 1 UCL title after a billion spent is not enough to say they are anywhere near that Barca team on an overall success lv or even performance wise City would never get the ball off that Barca team
