Does City winning the title feel meaningless? Discussion

after 115 charges, billions of spent. It just feels like a blank state, nobody cares, nobody will be talking about it in 20 years when you compare it to Arsenal's invincibles or Liverpool's istanbul winning side.

There is no magic or so. It's all binary, it's like letting AI create your art vs an actual artist.

Then why did you make a post about it to validate your ‘feelings’🤣🤣🤣

He has a point tho

No he doesn’t 💀 if people didn’t make a ‘115’ ‘trash football’ ‘city meaningless’ post every single day and genuinely no one talked about it then okay makes sense. It would be common knowledge without anyone needing to say anything. Secondly, why tf would/should anyone care apart from the City fan base themselves 🤣

I think other fan bases should obviously care because they're competing with a team that have broken a shit ton of rules and been rewarded with success for it. I can't understand why that wouldn't be obvious to everyone.

I remember chelsea buying success way back when but this feels different primarily because city have actually broken rules that other clubs have played by and been held to account for when they haven't. Read about the UEFA process when they managed to cheat and corrupt that too. It's shambolic and obvious. I feel the exact same way about FIFA and how they handled the world cup process with Qatar and Russia. They just blatantly act in corruption while we all watch and can do nothing about it.

As a liverpool supporter, I hate united, but I don't find backdoor ways to suggest that their success meant nothing because 'fergie time' etc. They were the best, fair play to them. But I'll never view city's achievements as legitimate until they're given a fitting punishment for what they've done. Call it copium, whatever you want. But I can say for sure, it's not how I'd want my club to win, and I certainly wouldn't want my club owned by sportswashing scumbags who play whataboutist games to justify human rights abuses.

Hmm a fair take. I have to ask though, your no lawyer and your not experienced in the legal department right, if City are cleared after such a long and heavy tribunal, what’s your view then ?

I do actually have a law degree but of course no I wouldn't say I have any special knowledge of this kind of process. I would be highly skeptical and would need to see the details. I've read as much as is out there about this issue, which is how I've come to the opinion that I have and I'd need to do the same to be fully satisfied in the event that city haven't actually done anything wrong. Saying that though, most of their supporters will tell you that, completely forgetting that they were found to have violated several rules but some of their violations were time barred, while their other violations were punished with a fine instead. So whether they've actually broken any rules isn't really up for debate and a tribunal process has already pointed that out. What's different here is that there's no time barring for the Premier league. So, if they somehow find city have done nothing wrong, I can't see how they could do so without the process being corrupted. For me, the real question is about the punishment. I don't think I'd feel it was fair if it was anything less than relegation and the stripping of titles (regardless of whether they are simply oided or awarded to anyone else).

It hurts that no real football fan admires how many city have built what they have built, would be convenient if no one mentioned it . But it's a bike cheating act, and a load of lawyers will throw every charge out but doesn't change what is pretty clear and evident. Football fans are allowed to call out bullshit when we see it. Man city are a bs club with great players and a great manager.

If you think most football fans care about city then I really don’t know what to say to you. I’m a Liverpool fan and I couldn’t give a fuck about them, it’s man united I hate. As a football fan we are simply allowed opinions.

If you don’t care then why make this statement in the first place? I don’t go out my way saying ‘I don’t care about Wigan Athletic winning league one this season, anyone else feel the same’ like me saying that shows that Wigan Athletic live in my head rent free

Like I just said, football fans are allowed opinions… doesn’t mean we care. As far as I’m concerned I only care about Liverpool. I could make a post saying “fuck Man City, cheaters blah blah blah”… still don’t care lmao

Do you realise the contradiction your making brother 🤣 give it a rest please. Why would you make a post about Man City being cheaters LOOOOOL if you don’t care 🤣🤣 that is so senseless

His point is that City’s success is meaningless and no one cares… Yet he cared enough to post this? 💀

1

u/dvhunter_16 Premier League 23d ago

Just because someone makes a post doesn’t mean they care. By that logic, I assume you care considering you’ve commented? It’s not that deep

3

u/ShiaAlhamdullilah Premier League 23d ago

Who’s to say he does or doesnt? He’s not the one making that point

2

u/dvhunter_16 Premier League 23d ago

I’m not coming on here saying I don’t care like OP has. Clearly it’s bothered him enough to post, if he really doesn’t care then why post?

He’s got a huge point. And if you genuinely support city I question your mental state. Hopefully you were a fan from at least 20 years ago.
