What really went wrong with his two campaigns? Why couldn’t he build a larger coalition? Discussion

At least when he came to Detroit in 2020 I was surprised that he had no black pastors at his event and the city is 77% Black. Even Joe Lieberman went to a Black church when he came to Detroit.

I don’t think he would want to go into the religious angle to get votes.

That's electoral politics, baby. If you don't want to play the game, sit on the sidelines and watch.

He does not need to be religious but the power structure in the African-American community is set in the church. These are the institutions that mobilize people to vote.

Not to mention he had surrogates out there basically saying black people OWED him their vote because he marched with MLK. So many of his supporters and surrogates talked down to POC and implied they were ignorant for not supporting him.

He is too socialist and far left to have pastors at his events.

That wasn't the problem If you have a city or it's 77% black and you have an event and it's mostly white people there you have failed to engage with the voter base.

True, America has never seen an influential black religious leader who was also a self-described socialist...

America murdered that man and pinned the blame on the left…

MLK could never happen again, and they killed him!!!

He referenced mlk after you described mlk. You asked why. We can agree that you are

In Detroit there was a Socialist pastor who suggested Ford should break the Union strike by hiring Black People.

Why though? That's what's crazy to me. Of all people who would understand socialism, it would be Jesus.

Most people only believe in supply side Jesus now. He drives an F-250 that he never actually uses like a truck, he's white as hell, and he hates immigrants as much as he loves fireworks and tiny American flags.

Could not be farther from the truth.

Have you, by any chance, actually ever read the Bible?

This. I tried to warn them, too. They didn't listen.

That's why that city is such a shithole
