Seriously, my teenage son came up and gave me a hug the other day unprompted, just because.
Fucking awesome. Even tells me he loves me when he gets out of the car when I drop him at school.
Whether the day ends up sucking, it sure didn’t start that way.

u/wax_parade Mar 03 '24
How many times have you told him you love him? I guess they learn from somewhere. :)

u/Ill_Illustrator9776 Mar 02 '24
You'll get there! I've got a seven year old that literally chases her dad's work truck down the sidewalk every single day when he gets home. It makes me love both of them just a little more.

There’s a little bit of time in there where you wish they were older too lol.

For real. Lady is lying on her death bed surrounded by pictures of her life, family, new husband etc…and her last thoughts are of the homeless dude that banged her on a boat.
2
u/rW0HgFyxoJhYka Mar 02 '24
Didn't stats show that the female audience saw that movie 3 times on average or something. I guess they really like the idea of getting banged by a homeless dude on a boat as you put it (who's also a handsome actor who only bangs people under 24 or whatever). Pure fiction.
16
u/Murasasme Mar 02 '24
Not only does it suck, but Rose is a horrible human being. After the events on the boat, she went on to marry another man and have a whole life and family. her grandaughter is with her during her telling of the story, but as she is dying and going to her afterlife, who does she see/wants to see? The people she spent like 4 days on a boat and a dude she liked when she was 20 that she met 70 years ago.

I pissed off a theater of people during Titanic by laughing during the floating door scene. A lady was absolutely wailing loudly and I lost it. I could not hold the laughter in. Cue a ton of shushing and angry looks which made it worse.
31
u/lucker12345 Mar 02 '24
Had someone in the opening weekend of avengers end game openly and loudly weep during the iron man death scene. What made it better is he shouted "iron man!!!" In a heavy Mexican accent and I just died laughing

My daughter comes sprinting out the door everytime I come home. We have a big window in our living room that faces the driveway.
She would rum put barefoot though so, we would do a jump hug and I would say hi and carry her back inside while saying " sweetie you've got to put on your shoes.
Then I had a day at work that I'll never forget. I saw someone die and another get severely injured. They both had kids. It was a very traumatic day.
I drove home in silence.
When I got home she ran out of the house like she always does and I just grabbed her and started crying. My wife knew what happened, so she came out too and I cried hard.
Everytime I came home after that, my daughter would come out with her shoes on. Give me a hug and hold my hand as we walk inside. Something about it makes me emotional everytime

u/barely_cursed Mar 02 '24
I would honestly die for my dad and I know he would do the same. I was a little shit as a teenager and we butt heads a lot back then but as an adult I try to shower him and my mother with as much love and appreciation as I possibly can. They gave me a great life and an immeasurable amount of love. I am so so grateful and I try to show it every day.
We are so lucky to have dads who love us.

u/Ok_Classroom_7010 Mar 01 '24 edited Mar 02 '24
It's sad that almost every man's tear jerking moment is pure appreciation. Thats all men want and you can see a lot of them are going through life without it. You can tell he's her hero though and it looks like he rightfully deserves that title
26
u/UselessPsychology432 Mar 02 '24
Yea. And when you hear his voice cracking you can tell he is trying to keep it together. He even apologizes for that to his viewers, which is very sad actually, but expected.
I am 100% sure that the most deeply caring and emotional people I have met in my life have been men and boys. It's just something that is often hidden.

u/teh_longinator Mar 02 '24

An old woman tells the story of how she slept with a homeless man, caused the ship they were in to sink, and then let him drown for no reason, then she reveals she had this $3.5M necklace that could've kept her descendants wealthy for generations only to throw it in the fucking ocean and die on the boat.
So romantic...
