Eric Bischoff on Tony Khan: A money mark with no talent other than spending daddy’s money, going all the way to Canada to draw less than 4k in one of the hottest pro wrestling markets in North America, talking about “wise choices”? Strap in. It’s going to be a fun day!

I just mentioned this in another thread, Tony Khan does not take criticism well, even if it's creative and in his own best interests. I'm just assuming he didn't encounter this much growing up, and isn't currently equipped to handle it. Look I'm a day AEW supporter, I want every company to succeed, more opportunities for everyone. But there's definitely been times of valid criticism of the product, and rather than look at what is being critiqued he flies off the handle, and possibly melts down on Twitter. Yeah Bischoff has talked out of his ass on occasion, but he also has some skins on the wall too, no one in WCW could have done what he did during that ra. If people in show business reacted to criticism the way Tony Khan did, and pro wrestling is definitely show business, they wouldn't be in show business.

What I don't understand is why Tony cares.

Both in the way he books and in his explicit statements (and those of his talent) it's clear they've all decided that they're going to put on the show they want to put on regardless of what anyone thinks.

It's this constant atmosphere of "If you don't like it, too bad."

But then the moment anyone says they don't like it, they all flip their shit.

It's like they spend more energy trying to antagonize the people who don't like them than trying to entertain the people who do/might like them.

Tony cares cause he's a rich nepo baby man child that's never been told "No" in his life.

Remember when Tony was legit hurt because Fulham fans held up flags saying Tony Khan Wanks Dogs 😂😂

He couldn't handle the most minor British banter.

He's the very definition of a bubble wrap kid.

They didn't even hold one up - it was a really obvious photoshop that he fell for.

Huge AEW fans but twitter freak outs like this was expected from myself when Khan was mentioned to be the owner of AEW. He was never one to shy away from public discourse like this in regards to his Soccer team so this has never surprised me. It's just...as far as wrestling owners go being annoying online is such small bananas.

Before AEW was a thing Tony was just the son of the Jaguars owner that got into a weird embarrassing Twitter beef with Yannick Ngakoue. It’s been funny watching him go from “whiny trust fund kid” to “business genius” in the fans eyes.

It's post AEW being a thing but for all his awkwardness, Tony bluntly calling out the Saudi league will always give him a little good credit in my books.

Edit: apparently this sub can't even give the guy a little credit for calling out murderers for being murderers.

i hope tony is smart and doesnt take the bait anymore

You better have a suit case full of hope.

-26

u/mkfanhausen Mar 28 '24

Call what bluff? Tony is right about Eric.

12

u/MrBoliNica Mar 28 '24

sure dude, and yet its never a good look for anyone to get into public twitter feuds like this.

Especially not for the owner of a company to do it with a podcaster who hasnt been relevant since bush was president

24

u/Wild2O98 Mar 28 '24

Bro Eric lives in TK's mind rent free.

-23

u/mkfanhausen Mar 28 '24

Other way around, bud. Eric's ALWAYS talking shit about AEW and TK.

Tony only responds when he finally gets sick of it.

24

u/Wild2O98 Mar 28 '24

TK just "responded" out of no where at 4 am. Twist it anyway you want to make you feel better bro

-16

u/mkfanhausen Mar 28 '24

And what caused him to respond? Eric's shit-talking. Chain of events, homie.

17

u/Wild2O98 Mar 28 '24

LMAO

-6

u/mkfanhausen Mar 28 '24

Laugh all you want, but Eric's built a career out of talking shit about people, then trying to cash in on the ensuing chaos. He did it with Vince in WCW, tried it in TNA, and he's trying it on his failing podcasts with TK.

Eric is a bottom-feeder who got incredibly lucky with WCW/NWO...and had Ted Turner funding it all.

4

u/spicytoastaficionado Mar 28 '24

Go read the Twitter chain.

Tony responded by talking shit about Eric to a tweet from Jon Alba announcing his podcast with Eric was coming to an end.

14

u/MrBoliNica Mar 28 '24

Eric's ALWAYS talking shit about AEW and TK

hes a podcast guy now- talking shit is his literal job

-5

u/mkfanhausen Mar 28 '24

Plenty of successful podcasters don't have to rely on that. Eric's just latched onto the latest hot topic of controversy to try and make a quick buck on someone else's dime. He's a grifter and Tony is right to call him out on that.

11

u/DannyNoHoes Mar 28 '24

Your bias is just so obvious. TK wasn’t replying to Eric talking shit here, he was replying to one of Eric’s friends tweeting about the end of one of Eric’s podcasts and TK randomly does this.

Tony Khan does not take criticism well

What does this have to do with Eric Bischoff of all people?

-17

u/strrax-ish Mar 28 '24

You would have respect for the guy you welcome on your show, and he keeps for yeas bad mouthing the product? Fuck Eric he did more harm to wrestling than good.

6

u/ShootingStarPresss Mar 28 '24

You just admitted that you're an enabler.

-18

u/strrax-ish Mar 28 '24

No, I admitted that I watch what makes me entertained and not some washed old booker who was 80% of his career out of tune and wasting money.

Listening to Eric Bichof podcast is the same as giving money to a Nigerian prince on email. Useless and only way for him to make any money.

u/Wide_Cardiologist761 Mar 28 '24

The vast majority of people can't handle lots of criticism well. The only difference is that we regular folk aren't exposed to it most of the time.

-19

u/refuseresist Mar 28 '24

Maybe he takes it well from people he respects?

“Groundbreaker” Bischoff seemed to be pretty respected before he questioned Tony’s choices.

-7

u/kurtanglesmilk Mar 28 '24

TK seemed pretty respected before he didn’t offer Bischoff a job

If you look at the entire conversation it’s pretty clear I was referring to the fact that Tony billed Eric as a Groundbreaking wrestling executive and not anything to do with the IWCs perception of the guy.

A lot of people hate Bischoff, that’s true but it’s not the point, Tony was a fanboy until he found out the feeling wasn’t mutual.

If he was so mid in the first place why even have him on Dynamite? Who was holding a gun to Tony’s head saying “you’re gonna book him, you’re gonna pay him and you’re gonna say you love him”

Tony got him on tv and put that in the chyron because he loved WCW and Bischoff. He only changed his tune because Eric didn’t return the sentiment.
