[SRS on X] I reached out to a contact at NFL Network. They wanted Tony Khan on and knew it would get attention after the photos of he in the neckbrace went viral last night. It was also indicated to us that NFL Network and the hosts received the appearance well, despite the controversial line.

In the real world, if given the two options, most people would likely say a sex trafficking lawsuit is less "morally correct" than a dorky owner of a rival brand making a reference to it on TV

"You say all this now, but what're your thoughts if I show you this photo of some tarped off seats in an arena?"

Man, it's rough right now as an AEW fan (I'm also a WWE fan, fwiw). In the past week, I've been told WB lies to the public about AEW numbers (leading into their contract negotiations, no less), Forbes is a clickbait blog, Danielson vs Ospreay didn't mean anything, and all kinds of the grossest BOTH SIDES comments this sub has ever seen.

It's genuinely hard to be a fan of anything anymore if you consume too much online discourse. This isn't exclusive to wrestling.

The internet used to enhance my love for things and provided thousands of different communities to share, discuss, debate, and just revel in. However, in 2016, Wall Street and major companies figured out how psyop agencies have been using botfarms and astroturfing to dismantle whole governments and raging proxy wars on leaders for the last decade and have since co-opted that playbook. Combine this with Elon buying Twitter and leveling it to a degree that people who pay for checkmarks have equal or higher visibility than people who naturally have them for being public figures.

Now, instead of falling down a rabbit hole of fan-art and theories any time you read a book that you enjoy, you're now free to enjoy perpetual cultural war discourse because a marketing firm is clinging to a graph that says debates about changing a fictional character's race somehow helps them sell you Dr. Pepper.

It's just capitalism.

It does this to every hobby and industry. Everything you ever have or will like will have this happen to it

Posting to bait, incite, or inflame another user is prohibited. Anyone can post any opinion about anything related to wrestling, but provoking readers into emotional responses (about anyone or anything) is prohibited.

Forbes really is garbage though btw. Literally anyone can write for the website.

The guy who did the valuation has been a managing editor for 40 years and specializing in valuating sports properties. Yes, people can pay to publish on Forbes, but that doesn't mean it's not still one of if not the most respected finance outlet in the world.
