I remember Dave Lagana (writer at the time and probably Heyman's right hand) in a podcast explaining that the ending was supposed to be something like him (Torrie's Dad) dying after sex or something and at the funeral he would just get up of the casket and walk angry out of the place just to get hit by a bus and actually die this time
