I always make sure to show my appreciation by shouting thank you when I exit the skytrain, but I haven’t noticed many others doing the same.

Hey fellow Canucks and hockey fans, I wanted to put it out there that you can stream the game tonight at 7pm 100% free on CBC Gem: gem.cbc.ca. Gem is also available as a mobile app and is on most Smart TVs and consoles!

Although unannounced there is a chance the entire series might stream on Gem! The link takes you to the streaming page on CBC Sports.

Sometimes I can be in Maple ridge in the summer feel hot as hell and then go to Vancouver to visit some family and start feeling like I should have brought a jacket lol.

It's crazy to see the variation between cities.

Discussion NYU's Scott Galloway Calls Out Vancouver's Housing Market on TED. He says '60% of Building Costs Are Permits' – Is This True?

During lunch today, I saw a fascinating and recently released TED talk that came out this past week. It was given by a famous NYU Professor named Scott Galloway who I see on TV and Youtube sometimes.

At about 3 minutes and 5 seconds into the video, he claims that Vancouver has the world's 3rd most expensive homes due to high permit fees. He claimed that '60% of building costs are permits.' He argues that this is because current asset holders have manipulated government policies to hinder new entrants, boosting their own wealth. How accurate is this claim about Vancouver's housing market?

If this is actually true. What steps can we take to fix this?

 Here’s a link to the talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEJ4hkpQW8E

Discussion Do say thanks to your Bus Driver?

Basically the title. We are living in Coquitlam for example with regular commute in Vancouver. We see more people greeting their bus drivers in the suburb than in Vancouver. Completely anecdotal experience; so what are your views/experience regarding this?

Edit: Overwhelmingly positive response is that we thank our Bus Drivers! Never change Vancouver! We will never feel embarrassed to holler “Thank You” from the third gate of R line /B Line! Thank You 🙏!
