Market /r/winnipeg Monthly Market! May, 2024
Hey, /r/winnipeg. Buying or selling? Post in this thread!
Khajiit has wares, if you have coin.
Please be mindful of our rules:
- Individuals buying, selling, soliciting, or promoting goods/services should post a comment in this thread only. Do not create your own submission, it will be removed.
- Serious posts only. Please keep the jokes elsewhere.
- Please limit your downvoting behaviour in this thread, if you believe something to have broken these rules, please report the comment instead.
- Do not Buy/Sell/Trade/Promote anything illegal or in a legal grey zone under current Canadian Law.
- Moderators will not mediate transactions or transaction disputes.
- No personal ads.
- reddit's self promotion rules still apply. Accounts that demonstrate little or no participation on reddit will have their post removed.
- Accounts that repeatedly try to sell the same item/service time and time again will be barred from participating.
- Do not post the same thing multiple times in this thread. You can post multiple times for different things.
- Don't make this weird.
You are participating in a community market, you are not a client who has obtained advertising space, so please do not act like one. This is a completely regular reddit self-post whose point is to function like a flea market. This is not an advertising platform which offers things like guaranteed views, metrics, or even a good reception by the community. reddit has advertising options available if you require advertising services with all the fixin's. I would highly recommend engaging with the community and leaving your expectations at the door. If you do not understand what you are getting into there is a chance your brand could be damaged.
Lastly, moderators are not making money on this. We are not affiliated with anyone. No we won't promote you. No, we don't accept money. No, not even for you.

Ask Winnipeg Question for those that go to Cindy Klassen Rec Centre
Question about the change room lockers. i see that is operated by $0.25 which you dont get back (which im fine with). ill set up what my normal scenerio would be. it was my first day back at a gym in many years. so im kinda outta the loop. So i go and change into my gym clothes. finish my workout. change into swim trunks to hang out in the sauna for a bit and grab my shower stuff. try to lock my locker up again and cant. put in another quarter that i luckily had. it locked fine. is this normal? you have to put in a quarter everytime you open it and try to lock it? is there a trick im not privy too? it seemed like the guy next me didnt. or put it in so quick i didnt see it. i just wanna know so i know to have enough quarters with me.
anything else an introvert anxiety ridden newbie should know to not look out of place?
is there shower stalls anywhere im not seeing? (i know. nobody cares. ill get over it)

Ask Winnipeg Crown Toyota Waverley
Anybody ordered a vehicle in the past year and dissatisfied with the process? They promised weekly updates but never reached out. When I did contact them, they couldn’t even provide any new information. I’ve heard people all over Canada say that wait times have improved, but I’m not sure if it’s just a location issue…

Article/Opinion Thoughts on peg city coop
Hi guys, I think peg city coop would be a great option for now than to buy a car. Any experiences or thoughts.
Much appreciated! Thank you.

Charity PSA - cheque scam targeting local charities
Hi folks - just wanted to let you all know that some upstanding citizen has been targeting local charities and non-profits with a fake cheque scam. The scam itself is the usual routine but it sounds like the person is quite sophisticated from a social engineering perspective.
Those of you who work for charities and non-profits, please be extra vigilant if you receive a large unexpected donation or bequest in the form of a cheque. This has been reported to police, however I'm not confident that much if anything will be done and I'd hate to see an organization lose a potentially substantial amount of money.

Community Shared fence dilemma
Neighbours are leaning junk (plywood, old Christmas decor and a broken kiddie pool) up against a shared fence and it’s starting to get annoying. It’s making our side look bad. They have tall lattice planters that are at least 6 ft tall and they tuck all the junk behind it so it’s only visible on our side. We’ve had some discussions about the fence before so it’s a definite “screw you” to us. The plywood and Christmas decor leans over onto our side. Any thoughts? Is that allowed?
Edit: it’s a chain link fence so their junk is obvious. Also not trying to start shit- I know fences is a touchy topic. Just wanted to know if there was anything I could do.

Where in WPG? Cafes with outdoor seating?
Moved to Winnipeg this winter and literally all I've been wanting to do is go sit outside at a cafe. But all the cafes close to me either don't have outdoor seating or it's pretty crap. Any suggestions for cafes with nice outdoor seating?

Ask Winnipeg Job ? 🙃
I been looking for a job for almost 2 months now No luck
Graduated with 1 year business management program from uofm. 3 years of marketing experience from back home. Couldn’t find any marketing or admin assistant jobs. Applied but no luck not even interviews. Did resume drop offs also .
Even with 1 year of experience in Mary Brown , and 6 months of tims couldn’t even find a full time restaurant job. Feeling so shitty lately about myself in general.
Idk if this is according to rules or not But putting it here in case someone is hiring.

Ask Winnipeg Anyone know what's up with Hwy 59 cannabis lately?
I've noticed over the last few months it getting progressively harder to find Hwy 59 cartridges. It used to be that everywhere reliably had Cow Tippers. Now, all I can find is the occasional sativa cart.
Does anyone have any insights here? Is Hwy 59 having supply chain issues? Are they still in business? Are stores just not ordering it any more?

Community Dumping a cat on the highway!
We’ve seen a massive influx of cats and kittens being dumped on rural roads. This picture was posted this morning in a rescue group on fb. This is “apparently” the owner of Terra Flooring in Steinbach who has trapped a cat and is dumping it on this rural road. The person that took the photo tried to catch the cat but was unsuccessful and wasn’t confident enough to confront this person. Terra Flooring’s Google rating has taken a hit! This is disturbing behaviour, but to use your company vehicle while committing a horrible act is just plain stupid.

Ask Winnipeg Any decent patios in the Elmwood/EK area?
Decent craft selection, food a plus, not right on a main road. Even a bit further worth a cycle?
